I'm on the Thad bandwagon now after watching several videos of him. He is the exact PF the Suns are looking for, and I could see us giving the up the twins since they are from Philly anyway, it would make a good welcome home story.

Anyway, perhaps someone already posted this trade, but I think this would be a sweet deal...
Suns get-
Thad Young
Spencer Hawes

Sixers get-
Emeka Okafor
Morris twins
Suns pick (protected), Wolves pick, Wizards pick

Losing the Morris twins is a blow to our bench, however we'd slide Frye to the bench, and have Hawes come off the bench too, while Young starts at PF, and we run a super athletic run and gun starting five. Maybe we can keep Hawes for a cheap contract after this season too and still make a run at Hayward...

I'd leave Hawes out of the trade and keep as many picks as possible.

Hawes is basically Frye redux so that's a bit redundant. 3 picks AND the Morris twins? That's too much. I'm inclined to offer no more than 1 pick if the twins are going with the giant $13M expiring. Take it or leave it.

I think they are one step ahead of us.... i.e. blindsiding us with Bledsoe, backdooring Plumlee and Green, unleashing theGORTAT... called repeatedly about Young.... who knows what else they've been up too.

Its as if they have professionals doing this for them :o

Who are the top 5 FA's we would/could consider ?

of course the priority will be to sign Bled. But I think I read where we can sign him after we sign another close to max deal, and go over the cap restriction.

I have, in no particular order off the top-o-head.... and basing it on players who have either a QO, PO, or unrestricted status.

Ed Davis ... QO.....something has to give in RibTown... He has the tools to do well here... he does against us anyways.
G Hayward.... QO..... Would gladly put up with the excessive drooling from a few here for theWORD, But don't grab you bibs too soon. Utah is serving this meal.
Danny Granger.... unrestricted.... Some forget how good this guy was, has he? Will take a dinged up discounted Danny over a max deal Deng all day.
Al-F Aminu... unrestricted...my sleeper pick. Ibaka lite. Can someone teach him to shoot ? Great Athlete. Might be redundant here. Great athlete.... did I just say that?
Zack Randolph (yup) PO... Memphis is tight for space and might get Pao, who may be goes cheap to play w/ his Bro. Zack loves Memphis, but would he turn down a 3-4 yr deal? Would we offer it? Perhaps they are high on Davis, or just high... ZBo is a pipe dream of mine. Someone please pack it.

there's 5 from me. Are there others? there are a few guys (old vets too) in the lower tiered pay level I wouldn't mind as well, and may be that is where we shop. Come on.... humor the BGood with some talk thats not on the rinse and repeat cycle. 8-)

Stephenson.
Patty Mills, if we were to let Bledsoe go.
Chandler Parsons, if Morey let him become a RFA next summer instead of an UFA in 2015.
Darrell Arthur, for depth and interior defense if he exercises his PO.
Monroe, if you want the spend the max on a post scorer without much defense.

Probably that's it.

You're right that he might be a good fit here, but there is no reason to give up picks, even second rounders, for him. Just wait to pursue him in the offseason.

Hawes is basically a taller Frye, which is why I wouldn't mind him. Frye/Hawes would be able to keep our offense spread out, plus Hawes has a better inside game than Frye (not saying much). Hawes is also only 25, and apparently a good passing big as well.

Also a free agent looking to cash in his breakout season. You don't trade relevant assets for him if you don't intend to spend relevant money on him, and I wouldn't as long as Frye was on our roster.

Our picks don't really scream value IMO, and Young is on a really great contract for his production, I can't see the Suns passing up a deal like this if it were on the table.

The picks have not crazy value, indeed, but I think it wouldn't be wise to throw three of them in such move. Really, if the twins and our worst pick is not enough for Young, I'd be happy keeping the cap flexibility and the first rounders.

The Rockets gave up 2 picks for James Harden, but we're giving up THREE for Thaddeus Young?! Sorry, but that's ridiculous. The best deal I would be willing to offer would be:

Suns receive: Thaddeus Young, Lavoy Allen, Jason Richardson, Brooklyn 2013 second rounder
Sixers receive: Morris twins, Archie Goodwin, Emeka Okafor, Pacers pick, Suns 2013 second rounder

I think McDo exercises the 'Take or leave it' approach with trades at the moment. Good to be not desperate.

I think the 76rs take this and don't look back.

For the Suns seems like overpaying. At least one between Archie/IND need to stay. By the way, the can't trade their own second as they used it (protected) to get Royce. Otherwise would be a nice way to compensate for the loss of a first.

I think you have to overpay for a guy like Young. Philly has little to no incentive to deal him, other than improving this yrs draft status. wouldn't make sense if the talent the received for Young actually kept them at their current draft slot or worse... they become better???? I guess taking JRich off their hands would be a minor plus... but they aren't hurting for cap space.

And there is nothing stopping them from tabling Young in the off season, where all their/our picks are defined, and much of the league has cap room.

He's also one of the worst defenders in the league. He made Plumlee (and many other big men) look like a perennial all-star.

And why the hell are you all so impatient? Do you really want to waste most of our assets on players like Thad Young or Hawes? How many more regular season games do you think we would win with them on the roster? Do they guarantee a play-off series win in the West?

McDonough and Sarver made it clear that their goal is to build a championship team. No more treadmilling.

He won't cost much to resign after this year either and is a veteran who has championship experience as he started and played a key role on a title winning team.

Kyle Singler is another guy I like but I don't know if Detroit will actually trade him.

If we are looking for a 3&D guy, i would rather go after Wilson Chandler than Ariza.

If we're looking for a three and D guy, I'ld rather keep PJ Tucker on the cheap.

This isnt the same PJ Tucker from last season remember. He's almost automatic from the three in the corner....

It's everywhere else that's the problem. If I have to watch another 1-7 FG half where he bricks 3 or 4 point blank shots I might scream. Love the dude's hustle but he has giant holes in his game.

I think Phoenix is exactly in the position where they can afford to not overpay. We have one guy who is doing just fine at PF, and who is considerably cheaper than Young. Also, in the event Kieff was traded, Marcus would probably be gone too, which is something I believe the team would really feel given that he is the only ballhandler outside Goran-Bledsoe.

If the Suns didn't have a decent PF, I'd be inclined to pay more, but the spot is well covered. If the 76rs think they can do better than two cheap guys plus one additional asset, good for them, but that would be my absolute best offer (and one I am not really comfortable making, to be honest).
