both statements can be correct

While with the CAVS - he doesn't want to play anymore
Released, with teams wanting his services - money and playing time is important

Reports were he didn't care about playing basketball anymore because of physical limitations with his knees and thus was considering retirement.

This alleged importance he's now placing on playing time with contenders would mean those initial reports from last week weren't even close to being true.

I'm told 8 teams are interested in signing A Bynum, most notably Heat & Clips. Playing time, contender status & $ all factors in decision.

8 teams....what...the...****...

so 8 teams lets see...

Clippers ( who say they dont want him, veteran minimum, limited minutes behind jordan )
Mavs ( who have only the veterans minimum to offer, no contender )
Atlanta ( no contender, have mini mle to offer, plenty of minutes after horford injury )
Knicks ( veteran minimum, limited minutes behind chandler, no contender, no chemistry )
Nets ( have money about 6 mil after the disable option on lopez, have minutes, not a contender, no chemistry )
Miami ( have mini mle to offer, limited minutes, no roster space )
Sacramento ( limited minutes behind cousins, no chemistry, no contender )

and i am missing one team

I don't know what to think about Bynum anymore. He's looking for money AND playing time. I don't know how much playing time we can guarantee him. And the money thing, doesn't look like he's willing to make sacrifices on that end.

Really? We can't guarantee him playing time? Our big rotation is pitiful. A lot of you guys are really delusional.

If we wanted to use our mMLE do we have to use the whole thing? Or can we just use a portion of it.

we can use just part of it.

But I think it's a good test for Bynum's motivation - If he's not willing to come for the minimum (after already robbing the Cavs for 6mil$) - we probably should pass on him.

What if the nets throw their 5 million injured player exception at him (that also increases their luxury tax by 20 million i believe -25 mill on bynum basically)...

I wouldn't be suprised if King was stupid enough to do it.

If he wants to win he can come here for vet min, it's not like the 6 million he was guaranteed is gone.. 7 million and a ring with limited minutes should be good, but then again the guy can be a clown.

Thats fine. But the moment he gives up a couple easy layups due to poor pick n roll play Spo is going to bench him. As much as the Heat need/want size, mobility is a crucial factor in our bigs play. Bynum does not have the mobility to play miami heat defense.

Not saying he wont be signed. At the minimum, he may be deemed worth the risk. I just dont think he fits our needs at center beyond a big body.
