It helps his draft stock if he can develop a better handle and outside shot. He's already got eye popping explosiveness, great vision for a forward and elite defensive ability. In an ideal world you've got a guy who'll be able to pull down a ton of boards at either forward position, defend three spots, and knock down jumpers. That's a very, very good player to have.

Remember, this is the kid that gave Parker fits when they matched up.

The more I've watched Arizona, the more Gordon has grown on me. He's an extremely unselfish and heady player. He's also demonstrating an improved perimeter game. Lots to like. I'm definitely excited about his progress. And, I was fairly critical of his game early. All these projections are about following the kids for the entire season. Whereas Gordon has grown on me, Randle has fallen further and further from the tree, imho.

If the Bucks get #1 or 2, its biggest pre-draft mission should be trying to determine truly the amount of exposure Embiid had to basketball pre-2011. I'm talking going to Cameroon and talking to people. A legitimate background check you'd see an NFL team do for a top flight prospect.

The #1/2 pick is a monumental a decision for this franchise. If Embiid really started playing basketball around 2011, it is just jaw-dropping. If he started playing organized basketball in 2011, it's still very impressive, but not in the same league as if the guy literally started playing basketball in 2011. If he started playing basketball as a sport (pickup, shooting around, etc.), his improvement over three years has been so absurd that I don't see how you can pass on him, period.

Right, but there's a huge difference between a player developing perimeter skills, and trying to become a perimeter player. I'm fine with him developing perimeter skills, because in no way is that issue, but if he goes to the NBA and resists a shift to the power forward position, you neutralize his greatest strengths. By all accounts Gordon has stated he wants to be a 2/3. If he's stubborn on that, it could be an issue.

I hope Gordon is a three. It would easily be his best position. But in the end it doesn't matter. You are what you defend and he defends threes.

You guys know that Giannis has a better handle than Wiggins, right? Perhaps everyone knows this already but given how many feel about Wiggins, it is pretty amazing to realize the player we got at #15 in a weak draft last year.

Something that does worry me about Wiggins. His dad was a pro correct? He's got some glaring holes in his game for someone who's been around basketball as long as he has.

I read an article saying he played pick up games as a kid. Just didn't start playing organized basketball til 3 years ago

I personally feel if exum was in the states playing in a power conference, he would be the #1 leader
However, like Giannis, there is a lot of uncertainty

Explain how the 3 is 'easily' his best position.

Because physically it's where his advantage is.

It's at least good to see Wiggins finally getting more aggressive around the basket. 6 FGA at the cup his highest since the second game of the season against Duke. Needs to finish better than 1/6 though. That 43.3% from the field is not in a good place right now. He's shot a terrible 35.6% from the field over the course of the last month.

Both he and Parker both seem to be hitting walls coming into conference play. Parker at around 42% over that same period.

So the bucks should have been playing Luc Richard at the 2?

If he was a really good shooter and was fast enough to guard SGs on a regular basis, then sure. But he wasn't so they didn't. RS never said Gordon's best position was the 3 right now, just that it would obviously benefit his game to develop the skillset to play it.

Ok board heres a hyperthetical ques.for u all.
How would this board if the bucks did get the #1pick then traded down to #5 picked up another 1st rounder in lower teens n drafted that gordon kid from Arizona at 5 n the boards call at 19.
Would that b a fair deal.

The bucks used to put LRMM on ginobli, Kobe, Lebron, one on one all game long, he was obviously quick enough to guard the position regularly especially with his size and length advantage. Besides that my point is that like Moute, Gordon doesn't have the skills to play SF in the NBA right now, so how can it 'easily' be his best position? The dude can't shoot at all and has a weak handle, he has no business being mostly a perimeter player. Maybe he develops those skills maybe he doesn't.

I would pull a Milton Waddams on the BC and a Patrick Bateman on John Hammond.
