Playoff Watch Thread

Post#1 » by Dupp » Wed Jan 8, 2014 8:43 am

I know this contradicts the tank thread but with the acquisition of Deng maybe we can sneak in to the playoffs.
Undeserving i must say, but the east is just so awful it's barely comprehensible.

So this thread is for the guy's that are positive about this direction.

Current Standings.

4) Atlanta- 20-19
5) Washington- 19-19
6) Chicago- 18-20
7) Brooklyn- 16-22
8) Charlotte- 17-24
9) Detroit- 16-23
10) Cleveland- 15-25
11) New York - 15-25
12) Boston- 14-27
13) Philadelphia- 13-26

Upcoming games.

Vs Dallas (24-17)
Vs Bulls (18-20)
Vs Bucks (7-31)
Vs Suns (22-17)
Vs Pelicans ( 15-23)

Edit - 5 home games in this stretch. I think 3-2 is realistic and will have us looking towards the 8th seed.

As for the standings its all pretty close and well under 500 which is pretty pathetic (somehow still in the running). The next 10 games will set the tone for us either heading towards the playoffs or heading toward the lottery.

I'll update as often as i can be bothered.

GO CAVS?! :P

I think we'll likely get to about the 6th spot.

If healthy I don't think this will be a team that others will want to play.

I'd love to play the wizards in the first round personally. That'd be a fun series.

Absolutely. TT dominating Val would be hilarious.

Once we make another trade I think we definitely cement ourselves in the second tier in the East.

Great thread!

This might actually give me a little more interest in the nba outside of the cavs. I haven't really followed it at all this season besides our team but today i've been watching the Toronto vs Detroit score and I'm watching Brooklyn vs GWS.

Yea you mentioned a second surprise trade if deng trade went through. Who you think it is? Has to be a center imo. I could see Asik/Mgasol type trade.......even a love trade depending on how high the wolves value Waiters/Tristan/picks package.

Love would be the ultimate dream but even Marc Gasol seems like a dream. Would be a long shot and i doubt their teams would want to part ways with them but you never know.

Asik seems much more attainable but i'd love Marc.

Memphis is currently sitting in the 12th seed in the West and I don't see a lot of ways for them to get significantly better with the roster they have. They are definitely a team to keep an eye on too.

Making sure jack, gee and to a lesser extent Clark never step on the court would be just as big as another deng like addition. Especially browns lover boy jack.

Im guessing Memphis wants their pick back. Definitely a situation to watch.

Great defender, great passer, can hit the mid range which fits really well with TT. With today's nba centres i think he's pretty good. Granted i havent really followed him this season so maybe he's had a down year? Watched him a lot last year and he was great.

2/2 since the deng trade. Both blowouts. Time to get a little excited for a few games then let down again.
