Hawks vs. Pacers

Rematch from last year's first round series in the playoffs, one which saw the Hawks lose in 6.

Probable Starters: Bad Guys on the left, good guys on the right
Image
PG: George Hill vs. Jeff Teague

Image
SG: Paul George vs. Kyle Korver

Image
SF: Danny Granger vs. Demarre Carroll

Image
PF: David West vs. Paul Millsap

Image
C: Roy Hibbert vs. Elton Brand/Pero Antic

No Lance Stephenson for the Pacers tonight, could be a trap game for them as they're playing their 4th game in 5 nights. GO HAWKS!!!

What a start!!! Great defense and execution on offense leads to a quick 10-0 lead, 8 of those points coming from Pero Antic!!

Just as I suspected, the Pacers' fatigue from playing so many games is showing early.

we're up 16-5 but I wish we'd capitalize a little more on the Pacers' 2-13 shooting.

Something big: Roy Hibbert flat out fouled Carroll on a dunk attempt (obvious hit on the hands) that would've been his 2nd foul and would've been with 6 minutes left in the 1st quarter.

Every one of the Pacers' shots are short. We need to capitalize because they won't stay this cold, they're too good.

Good first quarter. The Pacers have height and length on their side but we have fresh legs on ours.

Teague looking to penetrate basically in every possession. Plus our bench is playing well. Hawks D is looking good

Good teams make runs. If we let them get it into single digits by the end of the third then we're in trouble.

Up by 13 going into the 4th, the refs just swallowed the whistle on that drive by Jeff Teague and there was clear contact made.

Got in from church, saw we were up 19 and I didn't dare comment. Tough ending, like the GS game, where they beat the stuffing out of us without calls. I've said it before, but our guys fight. They have heart.

And the grab of Carroll on his rebound.

Millsap with a bad shooting game, but others stepped up. Antic was 3 of 6 from 3...that is insane from a center.
Scott also played well.

That they do. The Pacers may have been fatigued but this win is a huge confidence booster moving forward.

Forgive me for arguing but men who fight don't need confidence - they just need an extra hand inside.

I'm really impressed with how quickly Ferry's changed the character of this team. We're exactly the type of tough, smart team he said he wanted. Part of the success was the hiring of Coach Budenholzer, but a lot of the praise has to be given to the men Ferry and Coach chose.

I know it's hard to get help but they just cannot let these guys get so down that they give up.

Understandable, but it must've been really demoralizing to the players how we lost that game against the Nets and especially that game against the Warriors. Despite the way they keep fighting, it does affect confidence when you do everything you can to win and it's just not enough (this has been the fault of the refs). Wins against these types of elite teams are confidence builders no matter what the circumstances.

It's still brutal to watch refs swallow the whistle...especially at home.

Good win, but same problems plague us. Disappearing on offense in the 3rd quarter. Letting PG penetrate at will and playing lazy defense in the third.

Lou Will made some ungodly mistakes , he had PG guarding him and he was clueless on what to do. His quickness is just not there yet (if its ever coming back). he turned the ball over at least 2 times that I remember by over dribbling and trying to size PG up who is clearly 7 inches taller and faster than he is.

Good game for Pero, he keeps knocking down 3s we will get the court to spread more. MIllsap looked TERRIBLE but didnt mope, kept hustling.
