Yes, I did ssy Vesely can play. Did say Gortat's great for Jan. Ssid when Gortat was acquired start them together....around when I said the Wizards should have kept Kendall Marshall.

It is not fun getting challenged by many and not having hardly any stop hating on me. Human nature says dislike those whose opinion differs or who disagree....

I pray for my own holiness that I no longer be arrogant, manic, verbose, disagreeable, hyper critical, hypersensitive, mean-spirited, condescending. Egotistical, egocentric, eccentric, argumentative .....

Forrest Gump just kept running. In this case I choose to emulate Bubba Gump, and say "That's about it!"

Oh yeah. I was right. Of course, this was about me more than the Wizards 55th straight road win. J/k

Good stuff. Nice win.

Hey CCJ. Just wanted to say you're one of my 5-6 favorite RealGM posters and your opinions and writing clarity is always appreciated. I'm probably in the top 3 for most RealGM personal attacks against with two other TOR board posters, so I know from personal experience it can be frustrating when people react to strong opinions with hate, especially considering in real life I'm already about as insecure person as it gets (crippling social anxiety and self esteem problems). For the most part I find the WAS board to have a refreshing average age level and respect of others. Hopefully 2014 is a good one for you, I and everyone else here and I am hoping for a 3-6 or 4-5 1st round playoff series between the Raptors and Wizards
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

This Wizards team is a work in progress.

I have faith in Wittman and overall the coaching staff.

Ernie has locked the Wizards future cap wise and wasted a draft pick IMO when he waived Marshall. OTOH Ernie has upgraded the collective character and the culture of the team BIG TIME. This season only the team would be outstanding if Nene were 20 P.E.R. healthy. Sadly, he is not.

The wisdom of the coaching is evident in how they are managing Nene's minutes. Also, Randy is coaching a meritocracy. Every dude is getting a chance to earn some burn.

I am generally happy with this Wizard's roster. Looking forward to the playoffs. Expecting a surprising trade ... or not. John Wall is leading and maturing just fine IMO. He can compete even if his shot is erratic. He does not need to be a superstar. So what if Boogie Cousins is IMO definitely better than John. Nothing to be ashamed of. Just keep praying to get Boogie in a Wizards uniform with John!!!! :)

I can dream. Call up Morris Almond, too.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

10 pts 7 rebounds in 14 min in the first half.

Game was tied 20-20 when he came in. Then they had a 33-16 2nd quarter. Ves played the entire quarter.

And yeah, I actually saw them double team him and he passed it out nicely. No KS there.

Can't say I'm surprised by any of this though. He has worked hard. He will get better as he grows up. A few more games like that and the FTs might even start to fall.

Good to hear you feeling better about the team. But I'm not so sure Wittman deserves credit for Nene's min restriction. That was a result of him over playing him to the point he had to sit out several games. When he returned, he was forced to a minute restriction by the medical staff. Same with Beal.

I have liked his defensive schema and his ability to get this team to play hard. And he is doing a pretty good job managing minutes and strengthening the bench without sacrificing to much from the starting lineup.

Not sure about his offensive schema, but it is difficult to tell with no one on this lineup that can routinely get in the key during a half court set.

He has gotten more out of Booker than I though possible and now even Ves is starting to play.

Wall/Beal are improving - but it is painful to watch the improvement day to day.

I still think this is a sub .500 team at the end of the year or maybe slightly over - we will see.

Meh. I think OKC would have to add their 2014 #1 to even make me pick up the phone.

We're already pretty deep at SF. I'd wait for a more enticing offer at a position of need.

Sig has been updated.

If Jan could find a role as an energy/hustle player, like our version of Birdman Anderson, I'd be fine with that.

I am good. Pray for my buddy. A Navy SEAL who is paralyzed, drooling on himself a bit of the time, unable to speak. Not about the damage his combat wound caused. Dude is fit mentally and can swim with sharks. My issues pale in comparison. Arthritic pains, some past boo boos, weight, mind stuff. Pray for my ex wife. She went to Iraq twice. Also over past 7 years had two brothers die of illnesses. She is not the same. Also, she was married to me 12 years.

Might explain her anger. I am pretty sexy. J/k. She has a great foil but I declare I am trying my best to not have her mad about anything. The past is just that. But a lot of women seem to stay mad. I do not understand the situation with women's feeljngs. I just try to pray to God for humility and sensitivity to women.

Nah, pray for all the BS of family court drama to go away. Strong families are what the nation needs.

I am good, getting rest, fighting the good fight. Most of all regardless, our kids are healthy.

Pray my buddy gets to see his kids! I already know in my heart he will. God chose my buddy because he knows how to suffer well. Family court made him sad for a minute but I am glad I was right there with him and saw the same righteous judge. Also will keep in touch with him.

Terrible finish to the game while going into Indy. Hope it doesnt carry over. I like our chances against Indy. This team was really excited to play them last game but Beal was already out and that was the game when Nene decided to start resting. We have all hands on deck this game and are hot on the road. This team wants to get over those .500 woes and wants to feel like they can beat good teams. Theyve heard all the bad talk and they want to show and prove. Indy will just be playing there regular game but will have energy at home while we will be playing like its a huge game and have something to prove. We should make it interesting

Yes! Check your PM, jim. I got it right before going to a trial in life. Best surprise ever. Made me look up and thank God for your thoughtfulness. See the PM. Too moved to share with the rest. I smiled, laughed, and showed it off. THANKS.

That's the player who I've had in mind when I watch Vesely. He'll never live up to the draft status but its a sunk cost. If he gives value there's no reason to punt on a 6'11 big who can run the floor. Also in a league that's going more to the stertch 4 look, a guy like him who can get out on the perimeter and play D with some defensive IQ has value. Admittedly when its a more rugged PF, he doens't have a chance due to strength.

Offensively I do want to see more of that hook. With his length and athleticism, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to make that shot consistently.

Isn't Booker already 26 years old? Jan is 23 and full of energy. He has summer league jumper skills. His form was like Dirk's in Vegas. Jan was FIBA's top rebounder and was also a scoring leader among many great, older, international players.

I think the Wizards fans mostly don't deserve him. I think Jan would be better off going back to Europe. But I also think he's good enough to start right now. Heck, the Wizards won 8 of 10 games in 2011-2012 with Jan starting at 20 or 21 years of age.

Hey CCJ - I think he is fragile - not sure why but he is. Really struggles with confidence - just look at what happens when all eyes are on him at the FT line.

Why not continue to let him build his confidence coming off the bench? He is finally contributing in a meaningful way. Clearly Witt is going to let him play minutes 15, 20 and 22 in the last three games.

I don't understand why folks want to change when we finally have the front court rotation working?

I am terrifically happy and surprised by the progress Booker/Vesely have made and they both seem to be doing well in their roles - I think we just have to get behind Witt on this one and root for both of them.

I mean, pick your poison. If you have Booker starting, our pick and roll defense will suck. With Ves starting, our one on one post defense will suck.

Booker brings offensive rebounding and the occasional long two to the offense. Ves brings someone who will ACTUALLY CUT TO THE BASKET SOMETIMES and keep the ball moving the way Nene does when he's in. With Booker in the offense grinds to an absolute halt.

Ves has to emulate Garett Temple and just not engage in activities that are detrimental to the team when on the floor. Don't set illegal screens. Don't try to do to much with the ball and turn it over. Be the player that you are.

Oh I disagree. I mean the reason why this is even being discussed is that Booker starting has been an obvious, obvious failure. His defense is terrible. The offense grinds to a halt when he's in there. He's the reason Gortat is forced to take long twos. He's the reason Beal is forced into taking contested long twos.

I don't know if Vesely would be any better. But I'm curious if Vesely's improved court awareness and willingness to move around on offense and his vastly superior team defense would help? Or is his inability to guard hefty PFs one on one and his tendency to get stupid fouls called and turn the ball over make things worse? Only one way to find out! Try it!
