Detroit trades: All 15 players, Mo Cheeks and Joe Dumars
Detroit receives: Noting- fair value for what they're trading.

Washington Generals receives: New bench for their team and coach/GM.

I've come to the conclusion that Joe Dumars is a creature of habit.

KCP = Prince
Smith = Sheed
Drummond = Big Ben
Jennings = Billups
Monroe = Stackhouse :(

Trade Moose for Otto Porter (which kinda makes sense for both teams)

Jennings=Billups
KCP=Rip
Porter=Prince
Smith=Sheed
Drummond=Ben Wallace

I saw on Vince Ellis' weekly live chat that he said the Pistons have no plans of trading Monroe at this time, and are going to remain patient with this team. He said that was confirmed through his sources within the Pistons, not just his opinion. So I guess we are all wasting our time talking trades because the Pistons are staying the course for now.

If we wanted to trade Monroe then a sign n trade would probably be the best way. So I doubt we would hear anything until then.

Hoping for a sign and trade that improves the team is taking a huge risk.

This is why we are stuck with this same team for 6 years. A stubborn GM who has "his guys" and crosses his arms and refuses to move them let alone think about it. Whenever we wonder if a big move is coming we have to remind ourselves...WE RESIGNED STUCKEY AND DUMARS REFUSED TO TRADE HIM. The big 3 is here to stay.

On a positive note, there's now conflicting reports out there on the situation. Chad Ford posted in his draft insider article today saying something like, 'with the Pistons shopping Monroe with plans of moving Smith to PF, such and such player would fit good in Detroit at SF.'

Maybe that's why Ellis took liberty to announce the Pistons saying they aren't trading him and are staying patient. Sounds like maybe Pistons are shopping him, but don't want teams to think they are desparate.

Chad Ford is kind of clueless about analyzing players, but his inside info on Dumars has always been pretty accurate.

Personally, I think the whole trying to play coy thing is unnecessary today. It seems like the teams who announce that they are shopping a player end up getting the best deal available in the end anyways. Its almost better to just let every GM know he's available and then let those interested make their best offers and outbid each other for him.

I agree. That's a major drawback of having a former player as your GM, versus someone with more business savvy and looks at the team like a rolling operation, not a bunch of friends who don't show up to work.

Additionally, considering Dumars' inferior talent evaluation skills, he really doesn't have any tangible skill I would value as a GM.

I think okc would do this if they could get a pg that the pistons don't have in the deal maybe Vasquez from Toronto for a 2nd. That would mean Derek fisher will be their only pg. what would Detroit do with Jennings.

On Bill Simmons 2nd Birdmester he mentioned Indiana could possibly go after someone like Stuckey:

What about:
Stuckey and Jerebko
for
Granger

We dump Jerebko, start Granger, move Monroe to the bench exclusively (maybe that increases his production by going up against lesser competition), and most importantly we get worse guaranteeing us the 8th pick.

Worse case scenario we can trade Granger at the deadline. We would have 22M of expiring deals to play around with plus Monroe available for trade.

That being said, there is not one player that can provide the production Stuckey provides while covering the majority of Granger's contract in a trade. Indiana literally can't make a better trade bc they not only get a player they could really use off the bench they get money to resign Lance this offseason.

Indiana would not consider this deal in my opinion.

Do you know specific teams we could trade with or players that could fit well? I don't have insider so I'd like to know.
