I think a quick-fix, rushed trade might happen in light of Bledsoe's injury.

Okafor and 2 firsts for Hayward.

Isn't that what is signed for? A quick, temporary fix

Are you talking about Barbosa?

I love Barbosa, but he isn't a difference maker and not really a creator or a ball-handler.

Yeah sorry, LB is who I was referring to. LB isn't a difference maker but we have one on the shelf. Why are we making a move that would adversely affect the long term to fix a short term problem?

This would be no different to what we've been doing the past few seasons signing guys to long term deals to achieve short term success (which didn't even happen). We were throwing money at guys to to fill what we were missing in the short term to try and make playoffs, all the while mortgaging our future to finance it. We now have some financial flexibility and good assets to make a smart move which could help our future. A short temporary fix while giving up assets is the worst move we can make right now. We only need to go back to the season where we traded Dragic and a 1st for Brooks because we needed scoring off the bench at the time.

And fwiw, OK4 + 2 firsts for Gordon won't get it done.

Gambo had Tom Penn on the show and said Flip Saunders will let Love walk before he trades him. So that idea is probably gone. I would prefer Hayward over Young now that Bledsoe is out. We need a wing who can handle the rock.

Not sure if Utah would do Marcus Morris + two-1st's for Gordy. They definitely won't take on Okafor's contract.

Still don't think splitting the MoBros is a good idea.

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

That's even better. We could still sign Love without giving up anyone integral to the team.

No he wouldn't...... That is idiotic. Most Wolves' fans want to trade him....check the boards.

I don't think Kieff is as mentally unstable as some think. He is a professional.

There's a reason they are fans, and not GMs. They don't make the decisions regarding a franchise's future. So, he could very well hang on to him until he expires...

It's not that I think he's mentally unstable, but I think that those two play really well together and getting rid of one of them would weaken our bench/rotations too much. Marcus can play 3/4 depending on the lineup. We lose him, we lose some versatility and more importantly a big body. I know Len is coming around and looked pretty good against Minny, but he's still a ways off. I'd rather trade Green or PJ because they both are 2/3 subs, which is more of a redundancy that Marcus.

Marcus might be versatile but I'd rather have a much better wing who can handle the ball. I think Tucker is more important because he plays D whereas Green/Marcus do not... I don't want Goran to pass out from being the only guy who can handle, score & create.

I'm just glad I see some of the older posters from .NET on here. I've been missing my fix of top notch posters like INF, Ring, and you.

I've been holding my breath on .net being fixed, but I don't think it's going to happen. It's been good to see posters on here, but I miss the news threads and other stuff we had over there. A lot more posters on here, but there's also a bit of white noise you have to filter through to get to the stuff you actually want to read, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

Last I heard Mori was going to try and throw together a board while waiting for .NET to come back up, he was asking for domain name suggestions.

Likewise. How are you liking the team's success? Do you have any moves in mind that you'd like to see us make before the trade deadline (I know Thad Young was mentioned)? Who do you like in the draft where we are projected to pick?

I tried combing through this thread to see your insight but only got so far. I definitely have missed everyone's insight since the other board went down and have been kinda lost. I've been frequenting SpursTalk.com, God rest my soul.

I was just starting to really buy in and was looking forward to the playoffs. Now, with Bledsoe's injury, that's kind of taken the wind out of my sails. I don't think we're going to experience a free fall in the standings, but I do think they might miss the playoffs now. And even if they do make the playoffs, I really don't see them being able to make any noise.

Do you have any moves in mind that you'd like to see us make before the trade deadline (I know Thad Young was mentioned)?

For some reason, Bledsoe's injury has got me kind of shell shocked. I'm kind of hoping we just stand pat and play the season out. But I also hope that McDonough makes a few moves for the future. I'd like him to call up Charlotte and see if they have buyer's remorse with Cody Zeller, and/or if they're willing to part with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. I also would like to see us acquire Donatas Motiejunas. And I think we should offer Miami a chance to salary dump Joel Anthony while getting from them the draft rights to James Ennis and Philadelphia's protected first rounder (which in all likelihood will just becomes two second rounders).

Who do you like in the draft where we are projected to pick?

TJ Warren and Kyle Anderson are my frontrunners. I also like Markel Brown and CJ Wilcox. If the Suns end up drafting in the late lotto with either their pick or Minnesota's, I'm hoping that Glenn Robinson III, Doug McDermott, or Willy Cauley-Stein is around.

Yeah, there's a reason why Tom Penn is ex-GM Tom Penn. I like his little insights into how things work, but when it comes to making moves? Uh, not so much. You don't think teams have watched what has happened recently and took notice?

Lets compare.

Cavaliers lose Lebron for nothing. They're totally screwed, perennial high lottery drafters since.

Lakers lose Howard for nothing. They'll miss the playoffs for the first time in a long, long time.

Conversely.

Nuggets see writing on the wall, they get a good package for Anthony and were in decent shape, before trading for Iguodola and, you guessed it, letting him walk for nothing.

Utah has enough of the D.Will show and moves him to the Nets. You wouldn't rather have Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter (picked with the Nets pick in 2011) and another pick coming this year from Golden State? Remember they almost had a top 8 pick if not by some tom foolery by Mark Jackson tanking games at the end of the season that year. They missed out on Harrison Barnes. Still, they followed up a smart move by letting Milsap and Jefferson walk for nothing. Where are they? Oh yeah, high lottery again.

My point being, it's almost always smart to get something when you can for good players. Unless you're using that cap room wisely.

Marc Jackson didn't tank games. Can we please stop saying this as it is fact. Shorten season, many many injuries, and one trade. Even if Barnes doesn't play a game, their starting lineup save Iggy is still from that team that lost many games. The only difference is they are all healthy now.

Awesome post...but I can see Flip being pig headed and stubborn enough to let Love go.
