 Talking about Shaq and staying in shape:

The workouts were longer and more intense. After a hard practice we'd have to get on these exercise bikes around the court. They hooked us up to heart monitors and had these television sets with everyone's name on it so they could measure our heart rates.

The idea was to embarrass you into keeping your heart rate at that level. It was demeaning, but we figured out a way to rig it. Me and GP [Gary Payton] realized if you kept tapping and rubbing the monitor on your arm it would speed up the heart monitor even if you weren't pedaling that hard. DWade and Posey knew about it, too. Some days, we actually were smiling while we were on those bikes. I'm sure Pat was suspicious. He was probably wondering, What the hell are they up to?

I was flipping through Shaq's book and it was very revealing about how big a douche he really is. He never understood the concept of getting in playing shape, and blamed Riley for expecting him to be better than a big mouth and bad ego.

I read his book as well and what stood out to me was how he refused to take blame for ANYTHING.

I was especially eager to read the details of his ugly departure from the Heat and read about what really happened and I just don't buy his side of the story.

He makes it seem like his departure was all Riley's fault and I just don't believe him.

If Shaq really was kicked off the team and if he really wanted to stay in Miami -as he claims - he wouldn't have demanded a buyout two months before he was traded, bad-mouthed Wade behind his back, and refuse to cooperate with the medical staff.

He did not behave like a guy who wanted to stay. Even Micky Arison confirmed that Shaq forced his way out.

He also made it seem like Riley fired SVG when EVERYBODY knows Shaq forced out Stan.

We're so worried about protecting the paint, we leave decent 3pt shooters open and turn them into snipers. Boy we need some presence in the paint so we can chase shooters off the line.

Get a damn center on this team. Sign Bynum now. This is exactly how Chris Bosh as center is gonna play against the Pacers...AGAIN

They guaranteed Mason's contract though. He was the guy to cut imo if this was going to happen. I don't think they can waive Mason now since they just guaranteed him... can they?

So even Amare with TWO BAD KNEES and the Pasta boy are destroying us in the paint... yep we dont need Bynum but we sure do need Mason ...
