I don't see how you could rank Hendo above Silva, or Overeem above CroCop.

Silva, who is acknowledged at best, as the best fighter ever, and at worst, as the third best fighter ever, is nearly 100% a striker. To have him listed below almost everyone at that list is a joke. He didn't wrestle Belfort into a KO, he knocked his head off with a kick.

He is a clear number one, and at worst he is a number 2 on these lists.

Hendo obviously better striker, but Silva just better all-around.
Overeem vs CroCop is toss-up, but Reems clinch work gives his the edge.

I disagree about best fighter ever. He is in the top-5 peaks for me (Fedor, Cain,Jones, GSP are agruably better) and top-3 career so far. And he wasnt 100% striker, he submitted a lot of main opponents (Sonnen, Hendo ect) and his defense on the ground was outstanding.

Silva outstruck Hendo in their fight.

I have to put Silva as the best striker. He makes elite strikers look like amatuers.

Spider
Fedor - he outstruck the guy I have tied at #3 so it's hard to justify not putting him above him.
Cro Cop / JDS
Reem
Belfort
Chuck
Jon Jones
Hendo
Velasquez
Cormier
Gus

How many guys did he look to take down?
Silva never wanted the fight on the ground, because he is a pure striker. He might have some defensive ground game, etc, but Silva dictated where the fight was the majority of his long career, and he always wanted it a striking match because he is an elite striker that few could beat.

He made any strikers that fought him look like children. The guy was a striking god.

No way is Cormier number 12. He has top 5 talent, behind Anderson and Jones and maybe another couple. He can't top CC or Anderson because they've training since they were kids but he certainly tops Cain and Hendo, Gus and Fedor, JDS...puhlease. He's soooo good.

If you include striking against the cage, Cain obv kicks the crap out of JDS (like when he kicked the crap out of JDS).

His sense for shifting weight and distance and his balance and coordination - he's not the best athlete in the usual terms of explosiveness but he might be the best in terms of more subtle proprioceptive things. The best.

Do you think Cormier is a better striker than JDS? You think he would beat JDS in a striking match, with no wrestling?

I'm not arguing, I'm asking that sincerely.

I'm having a hard enough time coming up with rankings, but Wandy, Shogun, and Machida should be up here, IMO. Some smaller guys too. Aldo, Cruz, Pettis?

It's also hard to place the guys with huge power but lesser technique (Hendo, Liddell?) in a list with guys that may have better technique (particularly defense), but don't have the KO results.

Pound for pound is a bit tricky too, because some of these guys (Gus, Jones to some extent) do well striking because of their reach advantages.

IMO Cain, Jones ans Silva are clearly better in terms of talent than Cormier.
