Melo's problems in the NBA haven't been related to his talent. He got an over-inflated sense of himself and forgot he was part of a team - and his shot selection became poor. With good shot selection, Melo would be a future HOFer, imo.

See embiid as a Dwight Howard type player, would be completely content with the pick, but we still need scoring and a two gaurd and would hope we so a deal to get one in the draft or young somehow. Wiggins with the potential to be a Kobe type player, and I think would be the smartest move unless there is a 2 with scoring ability in the draft that we could get somewhere in the late lottery... My 2 cents, I just don't really understand all the Parker love, if he is a Melo type baller, he will bring us nothing but dissapointment.

I agree with this sentiment, however I don't see Embiid as high as Howard.

I drop Parker because he's going to be a negative defender and that's going to be a problem. Wiggins, despite his offensive struggles, will likely be a good to very good defender so he's my choice.

Well look who's finally showed up.

Before the college basketball season started, the phrase "Riggin' for Wiggins" seemed like it was going to echo around NBA arenas every day until the draft. Has anyone come up with a "Losing for Parker" slogan yet?

No. No one has come up with any slogans for any of the other top picks.

Love that Die Hard clip. Reminds me of the Jim Rome Show every time I hear it.

Hmmm...Draft Watch 2014. Where have I heard that before?

Well, the good news is we are forcing these guys to start reporting on the real story.

Hasn't the JS been in a hiring freeze since Garry Howard cashed in all the chits to sit in the front row and pretend to be friends with players?

I always laugh when I see Gardner sitting at the top of 214 or wherever.

I think Parker is going to be a smarter version of Melo without the thug mentality. Love this guy even more after watching several interviews with him. He and Giannis together is going to be make this season worth every minute of watching Caron Butler and Extra Heavy.

Define what you mean by "thug mentality."

I haven't been this engaged or excited during a Bucks season since 2000-01. The 8th seed chasing seasons bored me and ultimately infuriated me so this is a breath of fresh air.

If we happen to pick a year to be really bad, this would be the best one to do so since the LeBron draft. This team will keep me intrigued through game 82. Giannis helps that cause quite a bit too.

Remember "Stop Snitchin'," starring one Carmelo Anthony?

Maybe its a good thing if we get the 3rd pick. Then we can't bitch about the pick and Hambone can't **** it up!

If everyone that drove drunk and did something stupid and ignorant as a 19 year old was a thug, Wisconsin would be a pretty interesting place to live.

I'll grant you that Carmelo isn't particularly smart but "thug" should be reserved for guys that are...actual thugs, and not just thrown around. Lumping him in with Arenas/Artest/S-Jax who are actual violent criminals just irks me.

EDIT: I guess there's the NY/DEN brawl but my point stands

I've thought that too simply because when we've picked first in the recent past, we've ultimately had regrets of who we didn't take (Big Dog draft = Kidd/Hill, Bogut draft = CP3/Deron Williams).

Ultimately you have to want #1 because it opens up all options to you and ultimately you may be able to acquire a future #1 if you trade back a few spots because someone else wants a player really bad up top.

1) Parker
2) Wiggins
3) Randle

I would not be surprised if he does take Randall at 3. He's a "safe" pick by all accounts as a plug and play double double machine, especially if he sees Embiid as a Sanders clone due to their build.

The only area where I give Hammond the benefit of the doubt is the draft. He's earned that.

The way you talk you'd think Carmelo Anthony was Josh Smith.

Not saying that, I know melo is better.... But do you think either will be in the conference finals even? I don't, and I think that them being on the team is a big part of that, bad shooting percentages, low assists totals... Not someone I want. And Parker is a small forward, where we also have Giannis... That's a problem cause neither is or should be a four.

You're making the major mistake of first comparing these people to NBA players and then comparing those NBA players to determine your analysis. You have to judge these prospects for who they are, on the court. Throw away the comparisons.
Coach K made Austin Rivers into a lead player his freshman year as well. Now I'm not saying Rivers is in the same stratosphere as Parker. But I just see a solid player in him, a Big Dog type

Is that all were shooting for? A big dog type player? I sure hope not. I want at least an all star.
