This was a tough loss considering that the Wizards were competitive in the 1st quarter. The lapses with the Wizards showed themselves eventually defensively in the 2nd quarter. This game was over at some point in the 3rd quarter because the when the Wizards weren't scoring, 51 points through 3 quarters isn't going to get it done. Not sure why the Wizards were missing all those free throws and shooting below 50%.

Games like these make me question Wall's abilities. Can Wall be taken out of his game offensively against a good defensive team especially when it comes down to the postseason? Right now, those teams in the East include Indiana and Miami- and perhaps other teams could contain Wall and make the necessary adjustments in a 7 game series.

The Wizards are going to have be better offensively- getting to the paint. Converting free throws should be easier than the Wizards are making it out to be. And the Wizards can't let lack of offensive success effect their play on the defensive side of the court.

With New York teams playing much improved bball, the Wiz might fall out of the playoffs lol. I don't know what Ted Leonsis is waiting for... Randy is average at best, Ernie needs to f*cking go, he has screwed this team long enough.

 This has to be my favorite suggested move... ever!

Ariza for lets say Drummond -- leave aside that the salaries don't match, what do you think we'd have to do to Detroit to get them to make that trade!!

We might manage both to fall out of the playoffs, as you say, and still lose our #1 pick to Phoenix !! And all without any injury excuses !!

How funny, this is the exact same scenario for the Redskins. No playoffs, no injuries, no draft pick.

Upper Deck, I look at Ted and think back to Ernie Grunfeld reading a public scathing statement about Gilbert. I said then someone inside alerted DC Metro police. Someone inside requested Gilbert bring the guns a teammate had allowed security to see back from NOVA. Arenas didn't lawyer up. He wasnt an O.G. or else he NEVER would he cooperated. EG and the Pollin family didn't allow due process and for an investigation before they castigated the same guy who led them to several playoffs.

Further back, Eddie Jordan made playoffs routinely and IMO had his greatest regular season coaching 11 GAMES before he was fired. OTOH its been 11 or so years of EG, and the Wizards haven't made the playoffs since 2008, when EJ coached.

I have been a Bullets/Wizards fan 42 years. This owner has no objectivity with his GM. Two New Yorkers. Two European Americans. EG saved money in Ted's way of viewing contracts by trading Gil for Lewis, which shaved a year off the books. I think vendettas run deep once management is embarrassed or challenged. Ted loved Lewis for Ariza and Okafor. Great deal until Okafor got hurt. Then EG proved to be consistent in burning a draft pick, and harming the future.

By default I support EG and Ted. I feel they listened to someone when Morris Almond was called up. I am grateful. I just wish they thought more long-term, strategically, and most of all they were better judges of talent.

Right now they need to make changes. Cut a player or make a trade. Ted needs to move EG.

I don't think that is really possible. If they get that coveted "9th seed" they are pretty much a lock to keep their pick given the disparity between the east and west.

Watched the first half. Looked pretty good.

Checked the box score 2 hours later, assumed my phone was broken.

Hmm. Wizards had a little run to start the 4th. 10:00 mark they were down 10 pts. Nene and Ves with Wall, Beal and Webster.

Beal misses a layup. Then misses an open shot. Wall bad pass into the post that goes out of bounds. Wall and Nene both track Scula to the post leaving CJ Watson open for 2. Terrible ball over that period. But still down only 11 with 8:30 to go

Then this happens.

Defense out of balance with Wall, Nene and Webster covering 2 players on the right side. Indy moves the ball to CJ Watson on the perimeter. Ves go to close on him but Mahinmi sets a moving blocking pick an offensive guard would be proud of. No call. Watson for two.

Nene called for a foul getting Hibbert off his back. Scola makes a nice drive off a rub pick. Indy up 17 pts. Commercial.

Beal throw it to Indy trying to feed Nene. Then a transition 3 from Beal. 14 pt lead. Nene hit from 2, lead down to 12 pts with 6:00 to go. They are playing like crap but still in it.

Then Nene gets called for a lame call and Watson makes a 3 pt play. Scola hits from outside. Lead 17pts That was the end of keeping it close.

Wall missed. Beal missed. Trevor A missed. Hibbert hit. CJ Watson from 3. Watson was 6-6 from the field. 3:00 mins to go and now its a blow out.

Its was actually closer last in the game then one might remember. And its a game in Indy where they are 18-1 and the team is very deep, very big and might win the title this year. They actually hung in there considering Beal and Wall played so badly and Randy's in game coaching.

Man, Lance is a real interesting player. He gives that team the extra swag it needs. They aren't a flashy team but he bring the fun for the fans. PG level handles for a SG. Big body 230 6-5. And that cocky energy. And at 23 he already have deep playoff experience. Plus off the bench they have Scola, CJ Watson, Granger, Mahinmi and Copeland. :o

Indy is going to be a handful in the playoffs.
