Makes more sense than 211. What an odd number to originally go with. Was there ever any justification as to why they went with 211 specifically? I'm sure all the details will come out in the coming weeks.

It's the same suspension. 211 was just to cover the remainder of last season too. It's always been about being suspended for the upcoming season

My tinfoil hat seriously believes the league did this just for the Yankees and their luxury tax goals.

100%. It is a complete BS suspension. I hope he takes it to court and wins.

Still have no idea what he did to deserve the original 211 game suspension and now the revised 162. Those numbers seem completely arbitrary based on the league's past PED suspensions.

The Yankees certainly got what they wanted, though. Big surprise.

I'd still like to know what they have on him. It must be something equally harmful to the MLB, I have no idea what exactly that could be. But that's the only explanation that makes sense to me.

Yankees were most definitely in Selig's ear throughout all this. They make out like bandits at the end of the day

Is he not expected to appeal? Or was this the conclusion of the the appeal process?

He's going to sue in federal court supposedly.

This one will continue to be a soap opera for some time, but from all accounts he won't get the arbitrator overturned.

Yeah it is really difficult for you to agree to arbitration and then try to fight the ruling of the arbitrator. He gave his consent to abide by the aribitrator's ruling by agreeing to the process in the first place. Unless he can find that the arbitrator directly circumvented any legislation in his ruling, it is just a waste of time and money.

The rules for suspensions should be that the players salary should be removed from the payroll, but that same amount should be included when calculating tax.
