From Thorpe yesterday as part of his rookie rankings (he's got Bennett at 31:

Jan. 10: Near the end of a recent game, Bennett threw as casual and lazy a pass from the top of the key to the wing area as one can. With one hand, it should be noted. Then he slowly walked to set a "ball screen" -- with that word in quotes because he had no interest in screening anyone. This lackluster behavior suggests something is wrong with the top pick. He could be upset with himself. He could be upset with others, perhaps blaming them for his issues this season. Regardless, it is the type of behavior that coaches would not tolerate if it was an 8-year old doing it. Seeing an NBA player make that kind of disinterested movement is a problem that Cleveland has to deal with.

Probably should have taken Noel.

With the addition of Deng, there is no way Bennett is going to be playing more than 10 MPG, which is actually his average right now.. Especially with Gee and Clark as backup SFs .. Even during a blowout win against the Jazz, he only played a minute during garbage time. This pick is only going to look worse and worse. Expect to see a bunch of DNPs from here on out.

It's kind of ironic we passed on Noel because he was injured and supposedly the front office wanted to draft a player that could contribute right away. Bennett is not contributing to anything. When Noel comes back next season, Grant is going to have some explaining to do if he looks anything like a legit NBA center. Doesn't have to score, but if he can be a rim protector and hold down the paint similar to Asik, we missed out.

He should've been sent to the D-League already. Maybe they will finally do it with Deng around.

We should have just swapped our pick for some magic beans, we'd be better off.

Ouch.

I really think the kid is showing a bit of mental weakness right now. There is ABSOLUTELY no way he is this bad of a player.

The Cavs need to sign an enforcer or former enforcer as a coach (i.e. Charles Oakley) to help toughen Bennett up. No excuse for this kind of play so early in his rookie season.

...and please, NO MORE THREES!!! One would think all it would take is one conversation with the coaching staff ("hey man, no more threes, k?") to cut that part out of his game right now. That is not the kind of shot he needs to be taking when lacking confidence.

Charles Oakley would literally strangle Bennett within the week. Or mentally destroy him forever.

I'd bet on mentally destroy him forever. This season is lost for him I think--he needs some psychological help in the offseason. He's got some talent just literally zero confidence.

Lets all chip in and get Barkley in here. Anyways, with the addition of Deng - it looks like Earl the Pearl Clark will be taking AB's minutes. I know you are all excited!
