JR Smith hmmm

Post#1 » by twix2500 » Sun Jan 12, 2014 12:33 am

Interesting question, if the opportunity arrived that JR Smith has wore out his welcome so bad in NY. If NY was will to give Smith for Joel Anthony (may have to throw in Roger Mason), how would you feel about it??

Amazing talent, but a potentially huge problem. I know we have very strong leadership here, but he's a creature of the night & Miami's nightlife could be huge in him becoming less focused.

If he got cut & was beating down Riley's door to take a vet min contract I would be supportive of the move, but reading for him mid-season - while he still has years of guaranteed money on his contract - doesn't put him in the same basket as our Bird/Beas/Oden group of reclamation/head-cases who are sacrificing to come here.

Doesn't matter how we feel. It's not going to happen. Culture/Locker room chemistry is a requirement. Then the contract is another reason for no no.

Saying all of that, I would absolutely hate it, really do not like him as baller or person. I love our team, the chemistry and personalities JR is just should *not be allow to pollute anything else. Just my two cents.

I cringe too thinking of JR Smith, he is a pure ass hole. But I think its an interesting question, is he too much of an ass hole even for a 12th man?

Sure..bring JR Smith, add Bynum, Stephen Jackson just got released so add him too, maybe we could get Rodman to come out of retirement and become the new Jailblazers.

It´s not even the fact that he is an ass hole. After the surgery he had his shooting numbers have been putrid we´re talking about having your fieldgoal in the mid 30s and shooting 62% from the free-throw line.

Another thing is even if he could match his last season 6th man of the year performance we have someone who matches his production. Since both are volume scorers this just wouldn´t work the ball would stick too much.

Finally he would be toxic to the team, yes we have players who would put a stop to it, but why bring the unnecessary drama that's bound to take place? Smith is 28, in comparison Beasley just turned 25 and is still young enough to listen to the older fellas and be taken under their wings. Smith however is on a whole another level when it comes to listening to leaders and doing the right stuff needed to be done.

Read this quote which coincidentally sums up Jr. Smiths life:

" They warned me, but it wasn't one of those warnings where you were like 'Oh damn'. It was one of those warnings where you don't know the outcome of it, if it was a warning, or what it was."

Giving up Joel and Mason, and a 2nd rounder (WE AIN'T GIVING UP NO 1ST ROUNDER FOR THIS BITCH) for JR Smith, I'd do it. But JR is such a **** chucker. JR would also be the 3rd string and he wouldn't be bad as a 3rd string.

JR was good last year until he got suspended in that Boston series.

It looks like he needs a fresh start and some sort and to be kept in line. But he's a grown ass man and I don't think the Heat can even put JR in line.

Also I don't think the Knicks would want to help us AND they probably want 1st round picks for him.

Not like we'd miss Joel and Mason if we did a trade like that. But NO 1st rounders for this dude.

First Riley would never do it. Second the Knicks would never do it. Third he can't handle the Miami lifestyle, the guy has been arrested before in this city.. I don't think he's mature enough to have Lebron and Wade on his face like they do to Chalmers and others when they're being a bonehead, so that wouldn't work either. Reason he clowns in NY is cause Carmelo isn't a leader, he lets JR Smith do what ever the hell he wants.

I shudder at the thought of Beasley and JR Smith being on the same team...

He's a bigger idiot than Beasley. That's really hard to accomplish. Is he better than mason and JJ.? Yeah but I don't think hell conform to Riley's standards here like how Beasley has.

This would be an awful deal. Smith is an overrated chucker and his contract is terrible.

No freaking way. People thought Beasley was bad? This guy is a million times worse and really has no hope.

Rodman now your talking, I bet he can still play and that would solve our rebound problem.

Return to Miami Heat
