HECK NO!!!!! GASOL IS NOT WHAT WE NEED OR WANT UNLESS HE COMES IN WITH NO TRADE OTHER THAN FOR ONE OF THE ROOKIE BIGS FOR LEAGUE MINIMUM

Boarder Patrol wrote:How about Chandler, Hardaway Jr., and Beno for Pekovic and Brewer? They get a better fit with Love in Chandler, albeit a worse player, and get two nice pieces for their abysmal bench. We get a bull in Pek for inside scoring.
Pek | Bargs | Kenyon | Aldrich
Melo | STAT | Kenyon | Tyler
Iman | Brewer | Artest
Prigs | JR
Ray | Murray
Then, for some balance, do a Tyler for DJ Augustin swap and waive Aldrich for Roddy Beubois.
Pek | Bargs | Kenyon
Melo | STAT | Kenyon
Iman | Brewer | Artest
Prigs | JR | Roddy B.
Ray | Murry | Augustin
Immensely more balanced and deep team that could go to the ECF. It would likely take more to pry Pek away from the Wolves too.

bargs is having a really solid year but thinking you can get Thad Young for Bargs is just ludicris

Yeah I'd do this in a second but the Sixers aren't going to do that unless we include some healthy additional assets (which we don't really have a lot off).

Eating Jason Richardson's contract is essentially an asset
Not to mention that Bargs doesn't go to Phily, he goes to DET, who sends an asset to PHI to complete the deal.

so the knicks get the best player.
the sixers get a heavily protected 1st rounder for thad (they could do much better)
and the pistons give up a 1st round for bargs (when they already have 3 forwards (smith, monroe, and drummond). Why would they give up an asset to trade for a big man.
Knicks are the only team that win that trade.
Sixers would be able to sell thad much higher.
and
Pistons need to upgrade there backcourt, which is dreadful (no way they trade a 1st for a backup big)

They use Monroe to upgrade their backcourt and Bargs to space the floor. Their bigs don't fit and they seem to like playing Smith at the 3. Enter Bargs. He has the game of a 3 but the size to play the 4.
Not sure Philly could sell Thad for much higher. This is essentially the same package CHI got for Luol Deng.
