Cavs @ Kings

Post#1 » by pillwenney » Sun Jan 12, 2014 11:08 pm

We've beaten good teams and now bad teams recently. Now time to beat a team that is worse than it probably should be.

Let's do it.

Two things have become more noticeable in the last handful of games. This team is dangerous when Williams and Gay are out there together and Jimmer is playing his way into being a keeper. Jimmer really is solid on defense too. Has been all year.

He's good enough on d when the matchup is okay. When its not a good matchup, things can still get disastrous.

Overall though he's playing well. Good for him.

I just love the way he's been fighting through screens on the ball and off. Very solid in that area. He's no stopper but fighting through screens is this teams major weakness right now.

Have to get the assists up in the 2nd half. Not safe to rely on one on one the whole game.

What's cool about this game is that we've done it without cuz having to dominate. Good team effort.

Second game in a row where our d wasn't there in the first quarter, but got much better throughout. Next step is being there from the tip.

This is what I like to see. Running on all cylinders. Great balanced effort. Great defense.

Kyirie Irving: 31 minutes, 7 points, 4 assists
Isaiah Thomas: 35 minutes, 26 points, 6 assists

Three in a row! Maybe I'm high off this win streak, but These Kings are not bad, not bad at all. Perhaps not a playoff team yet, but we have some pieces that we can work with for the future.

Someone tell Jimmer to stop those step through double, triple pumps he does. I hate that move with a passion. Nothing good ever comes of it smh.

Omg. Who would have ever thought we'd be on the positive end of a 44-point blowout?

Well I guess it takes a 40 point blow out to make a Ray McCullum sighting. I like that he was productive in his less than 6 minutes on the court. 3 points, 2 reb, and an assist.

debatable. We are a team with a poor record. Bench guys need as much PT as possible (Jimmer/ Ben to be specific) especially when things are going well and guys are playing the way Malone wants them to play. Its nice to see Ray get some PT but the team is better served with rotation guys getting those minutes.

However with that being said I'm a big fan of Ray's and love to watch him play.

So this tells me that McCallum is not getting minutes based on simply being young and drafted late. In my mind, knowing how much effort this kid puts into the game (based on D league and summer league), I can't see him being less effective than our other front court bench. (<chough> MacLemore, <choke> Thorton) Although Jimmer's been playing well of late, I simply wonder if McCallum wouldn't be doing well also given a better chance.

A bit OT, I'm just hoping for future Ray McSightings in order to see more of this kids potential.

Yes. Just ask yourself this question- if McCallum was a first round pick would he see more playing time? I bet he would. The luxury with 2nd round picks is expectations are low so lack of PT should not stunt the players growth in practice. Sure in game play is the best teacher but Jimmer deserves the minutes he is getting. He waited his turn. Now Ray needs to wait his. That is the nature of the league, wait your turn and be ready. Overall these minor stints Ray is getting are beneficial for his growth. He is a project so Malone can patiently mold Ray into the type of player he wants him to become. Nice to see for a change.

Yeah the team was ahead by enough that McCallum should have played more. I didn't say he should vault ahead of Jimmer for anything, other than garbage minutes. Jimmer needs minutes that matter.
