Having his marketing appeal is a major bonus and a major reason why one of the notoriously cheapest owners has the most committed salary in the NBA.
picking Aldridge and Love over Griffin makes sense as their offenses are much more rounded. would you really trust Griffin 20 feet away from the basket, especially more so than Love or Aldridge? if not, then you're packing the paint to be effective which limits the ability for the guards to penetrate. (and yes, a point guard like Chris Paul can make it work, but there aren't exactly 30 Chris Pauls in the league).
can a team win a championship with Griffin? absolutely, but he'd either need to continue to evolve his game or be the third best player. unfortunately, his salary is that of a #1 or #2 option which is what I hold against him. he is young, though, so he has the potential to elevate his game. but then so does Lillard, and if you are taking a chance on potential, then I would prefer to do it with a player on a rookie scale contract.
after Lillard (explained in my previous post), I have Griffin as my next selection. that said, if Irving had one more year on his rookie scale contract, I would have him over Griffin. remember - we're talking most valuable players - they key word there being value. and I see more value in paying Lillard 40% of what Griffin makes. that's a compliment to Lillard more so than an insult to Griffin.

Griffin shoots 53% which is higher than LMA this season, or I think ever. From 20 feet he can take most PFs off the dribble or is one of the best passing big men in the NBA. He also shoots 44% of his shots from the inside, so it's not all dunks inflating his FG%.
Also, having a stretch game is nice, but so is having a post game as it opens up shooters and often forces the opponents into foul trouble. Griffin is #6 in FTA, LMA #34.
And while I agree LMA and Love are better players, marketability and contract are two major factors in my decision. Griffin is locked up for 4 more years and is one of the most marketable players in the NBA. Again, his marketability has led the Clippers who have an owner with a reputation of being cheap, actually having the most committed salary of any team.

Vote---Hibbert
Nominate--Klay Thompson
Hibbert may actually be more vital to the Pacers than P George.
