GT: Spurs vs. Pelicans

Post#1 » by Nolan » Mon Jan 13, 2014 5:50 pm

When: 8:00 PM ET, January 13, 2014
Where: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, LA

Tonights going to be a battle of two banged up teams. The Pelicans are going to be without Anderson, Holiday and possibly Evans and we're going to be without Green, Splitter and maybe Manu.

Go Spurs!!

****, I didn't know Nawlins are missing those players. I just bet 20 bucks on Nawlins. Odds have Spurs win by 6 points. We're on a b2b and a road game at NO and missing Green would mean Marco play starting role again and the bench quite possibly being pretty bad with De Colo or Joseph at backup SG.

Here's hoping Spurs lose, or atleast win by less than 6.

Second look at Anthony Davis, I hope it's better than last. Last game, he sucked. Defensively, very good. Offensively, just very limited. They didn't go to him enough, and he didn't post up or was getting many touches either. Jason Smith was getting way more midrange shots than Anthony Davis was. So basically I'm excited to see if Anthony Davis will surprise me.

Also would like to see Nando play well. Last year we dubbed him mini-Manu. Now he just sucks. But with Marco likely to start, we need someone to play the Manu role. I hope Nando plays well. I can't even recall a game he played well all year. Everybody else atleast has some good moments. Bonner, Baynes, Joseph.. They all have had good moments this year. Nando hopefully play well tonight.

Smith's out for New Orleans as well.

I don't what other options we have other than playing Nando big minutes tonight. Maybe we go small and play CoJo at the 2 he can guard Gordon/Rivers. It could work.

That's what we did againts Wolves. We saw Cory Joseph playing SG alongside Patty and Pop chose that lineup over playing Nando. My guess is that Cory will be playing a lot of SG. I just want to see Nando get another chance and hopefully take this opportunity.

I thought that was more of matchup thing with the Wolves playing Shved and JJ together so much. But I agree, Cory's probably going to get the minutes over Nando.

Matchup? That didn't cross my mind.. I doubt it though. I mean, Shved isn't some speedy short PG where Joseph is a better matchup. If anything, Shved is more like a Nando. It surprised me last night seeing Joseph playing SG because when I heard Danny is sprained his finger, I thought Nando will get the call. We saw Joseph playing some SG last season, but i don't think it even totals 10 minutes for the whole season. Nando atleast has transitioned from playing PG into a full time SG. Even with Patty on the floor, Nando doesn't run the PG anymore like last year.

Duncan was solid as well, before fouling out.
