I love Embiid and I think he'll be better than Sanders and Henson, but he is such a similar player to them that I think I'd rather just hang on to our two guys and go for a guy like Wiggins, Parker, or Exum.
ETA: Especially when you factor in Hammond's trade acumen.

8 years minimum? Not so much.
Well it's pretty rare for a guy to turn down a possible $60 million guaranteed by taking the qualifying offer and a one year deal at a small amount. I know Ben Gordon did it, but I'm pretty sure no one's ever turned down a max contract.
Well, if you think he's going to make that much money, and I don't, look no further than Lebron and Bosh. Players are forcing their way out of situations far more frequently in today's day and age. You've got Kevin Love who may very well do the same.

If you aren't winning that obviously is probably a bigger factor, like with those players.

Uh, how long did LeBron and Bosh stay with their respective teams? 8 years. Because they were restricted free agents and would have had to turn down a guaranteed contract worth huge money in order to switch teams. It almost never happens because of injury concern.
Even if they leave after that, like I said you almost certainly get them for 8 years.

Embiid is so good at passing out of the double team already.

Embiid pretty much owned both ends there. His poise handling the auto-double teams has been impressive tonight.

Embiid got away with the hook there, but still...

Defensive potential of both guys is crazy. I don't think anyone has scored on Wiggins the entire night.

Embiid is gonna be so much better on the defensive end than Henson, and way better on the offensive end than Sanders.

I think I'm already going to take back what I posted on the last page. Embiid is amazing. How ridiculous is this board going to get if we get #1? I have no idea who I would take right now.

Embiid is a lock for #1. If you pass on him you will regret it.

Can we all just trade our souls for Wiggins and Embiid?

Thankfully we'd only have to trade all our souls for one of them
