Re: RealGM Top 100 List
Well first of all, Thomas doesn't really separate himself with the numbers, especially if you pace-adjust. I mean, he did have elite production, but it's no more elite than other great PGs like Paul, Magic, and Nash.
Furthermore, I don't think Isiah was that good defensively. Decent, but I'd take Kidd, Paul, Payton, and Frazier easily over him. Probably Magic as well, considering his size and his rebounding ability. Stockton too.
And btw, when talking about Isiah's production...he wasn't a very efficient scorer.
Great player, but nowhere close to top 10. I personally have him #34.

His impact transcends the stats though, just like Hakeem's nine first round playoff exits seem to transcend his impact around here. All about context

I wonder if Deron Williams will be able to make the top 100 again. Might be the only modern/active player to be bumped off.

I feel a lot of point guards on here may fall a few spots.

Who makes the highest jump? LeBron would go up at least +8 into the top 10, Wade probably jumps into the top 20. How about Durant? Top 50? 40? I don't even think he's on the list right now.

And that team argument fits any agenda, as most people forget that the only reason Houston was a sixth seed in '95 was because Drexler was acquired after the deadline, and injuries derailed Rudy's team at first, and they won all those games on the road as a team. So please, I'd prefer to not get into discrediting players here, as it works both ways.
Sincerely recommend you look up some Isiah-related threads. This territory is much travelled by a variety of very strong opinions to a pretty impressive level of detail. You might find your opinions challenged, confirmed or even transformed...

I will definitely look into that. I'd like another suggestion though, let's say I was someone that thought really highly of Hakeem, thought that he was in the conversation for GOAT big man, and was a no-brainer top 10 player, maybe a fringe top-5 player, would I be able to find a thread that would perhaps challenge my way of thinking, as far as that goes?

There are many threads relating directly to Hakeem's "mediocrity" in the post-Sampson/ pre-Tomjanavich years. Specifically 1989-1992.

That looks exactly like Doctor MJ's list on page 1 from three years ago but with a different top 4.
LeBron at 17? It's very obvious.
Be original man.

Re: RealGM Top 100 List
I'm surprised that most people are complaining about Lebron on that list. To even get down to Lebron's name you have took look past the first big issue. The real head scratcher to me, is Kg ahead of Shaq. Not only is he way less accomplished, but Peak Shaq was significantly better and more dominant than Kg.
The word significantly in this case, is an understatement

There's a bunch of things wrong with that list. No need to take it seriously.

Re: RealGM Top 100 List
Any way one of you math wizards could design an algorithm to find out exactly how many times each of the 100 faced/beat each of the other 100 in a playoff series, broken down by the number of series per opponent, given a minimum minutes-per-game for all parties so there is no rookie/last-legs noise, or would that take pure spreadsheet elbow grease?

Deron Williams in the top 100 and no Dennis Johnson? Kevin Garnett over West, Oscar, Havlicek, David Robinson, Ewing, Moses and Barkley? Garnett is the most overrated player in history (or at least on RealGM). Steve Nash in front of Pippen, Havlicek, Isiah and Stockton? Artis Gilmore at 34? Huh? Elton Brand in the top 100? YIKES!

Co-sign, mostly.
KG should not be ahead of West, Oscar, or Moses. Havlicek, Robinson...that's more his company. I would totally take KG over Ewing and Barkley, no hesitation. Nash is way, way too high. Gilmore ain't that great. Deron Williams isn't even greater than Rondo, lol. Brand is in that 90-120 brakhage.
