College Basketball & Draft Watch

Post#1 » by Nebula1 » Sat Jan 4, 2014 8:50 pm

Just finished the Iowa State game.. Don't mess with a Hoiberg team.

These guys are good but there are many good teams this season. I'm predicting one of the best tournaments ever.

Kansas is now ranked 18 and going to be an unpleasant surprise for a highly ranked team to face in the tournament. Same with Kentucky.

Baylor @ Iowa State tomorrow as well as Ohio State @ Michigan State. Two high quality games.

I've been a long time Baylor fan but also back Fred Hoiberg squads so that one will be tough for me. Then I get to watch LaQuinton Ross.

Parker is better player now
Wiggins has more upside, you are looking at LeBron, PG like type player in 2-3 years
Randle doesn't look big as PF (measure around 6'9" in shoes and 6'11" wingspan), if you think TJones is small at PF, he's smaller
Embiid, sure you can't teach height, but we see Drummond, Noel not going #1, tell you team is now scare of taking raw 7 footer first

What do people see in Parker they like more than Wiggins? This perplexes me. Sure Parker is a nice, polished prospect now but long-term, Wiggins seems so much better to me.

i only watch them play one game and that's the one they play each other
Parker is more ready, he can contribute immediately out of the draft
Wiggins looks more like 2-3 years from being ready, he has the skill, more upside
as of right now Parker is better than Wiggins
Wiggins has potential to be the best player in the league
it's up the GM want to take the gamble on Wiggins or not, i will
Wiggins look like he can play multiple position
Parker on the other hand, i'm not sure he's quick enough to play SF in NBA

I think you just described all the reasons to take Wiggins over Parker, although I disagree Parker is better right now even. He's more polished now and producing more efficient numbers but one on one, Wiggins wins.

Sorry but Morey is not allowed to draft any Iowa State players ever again.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Arizona got a legit win @ UCLA. I'm not a big believer but it was impressive nonetheless.

Rockets currently have the #23 pick...

Who do you like for the team?

I'm a fan of Wayne Selden, CJ Wilcox and LaQuinton Ross is this area.

DraftExpress has the Rockets taking Selden

Methinks Selden will go higher, however.

Chad Ford now has Joel Embiid #1, bumping Wiggins out of the top spot.

I only have been watching the Big Ten.

As to who I think Rockets will target with their late pick... definitely an upperclassmen, aside from that one **** year Morey always goes upperclassmen.

I'm thinking Payne from Mich St., I would be happy with that. I think he'll be there at 23.

Nebula, If you like Selden/Ross, you should catch an Iowa game they have this senior Marble not as athletic as the other guys but he can shoot.

Yea haven't seen too many KU, UK, or Duke games but if i was a gm I would really think about picking Embiid #1, probably be too scared to pick him over his teammate and be another Perkins of Jordan

I'm originally from Wisconsin so I'm still catching a bunch of Big 10 games but mainly UW. Marble has been impressive as well, but I'm not sure he's on the same tier as Selden or even Ross.

I do think the Rockets should be able to pick up a nice player with their pick and a guy like CJ Wilcox has been knocking down 3s and may fit nicely on the bench.

Latest Top 10

Arizona
Syracuse
Michigan State
Wichita State
Villanova
Florida
San Diego State
Wisconsin
Louisville
Iowa

Personally, I still view Kansas as #1

Embiid and Wiggins looked good yesterday and although Embiid is taking a good lead with the #1 pick spot, I'm still a Wiggins guy.
