You're right, as I look at the salary matching issues. We'd need to take too many of their players, sadly. I'd take that OKC deal and maybe we can even squeeze one more asset out of them for that.

one more JR trade i just thought of:

knicks jan vessely and eric maynor
wizards get smith (maybe throw in aldrich)

maynor is a good backup pg, which would allow us to play a 2 pg lineup more, while vessely was a high draft pick but maybe just needs another chance. anyway both would be off the books in 2 years.

washington would get a scorer off the bench at sg behind bradley beal and maybe help their playoff push.
too many urkels on your team, that's why your wins low

They'll do 10 times on 10.
Varejao more injured and way less talented than chandler. They dont need e.clark since they got deng too.
So late 1st round pick of memphis isnt that important too.
If we would making this kind of trade i'll want j.jack. he was so good 2nd team, bench leader in Gsw

Send chandler to phx.
Phx send 2 first rounds and last year okafor contract to celtics.
Nyk recives rondo.

Its legit trade.
We may do
sanders for jr.smith too.

agreed.

i don't dislike tyson and I think he is an asset.

but to really maxamize our chances of building the best team around Melo in 2015. Trading Tyson to either rid ourselves of contracts that extend into 2015 (felton or JR) plus maybe add an asset or 2 (picks or young players). It would really improve our chances to build a contender around Melo in 2015.

And we really wouldn't be costing much over the next year and a half since we have proven we can play at a high level without chandler.

We really need to maximize his value for the future of the club

all i know is, i want a really good point guard. I'm not counting on ray at all.

I started saying this after the Indiana series. My proposed trade was a little different. It was Eric Bledsoe, Caron butlers expiring contract, and a 1st rd pick for Chandler.

I think he'll be more of a combo scoring guard off the bench. Like a Jason Terry, Jamal Crawford, type where they can play pg for a stretch, but they are closer to SGs. He had more of a scoring mentality in college.

But he hasn't played much in the NBA so its tough to say for sure.

we need to get rid of t.chandler.

he cant defend the rim.
1on1 cant defend against half of the leagues C position.
even valancinas is better.
rebounding offense, defence sucks right now.
he cant make legit picks too.

this season with injuries he's like aldrich.
we should deal him with jr smith.

We need Chandler even though he's not playing like he did in his Dallas days. I think Chandler needs some help though defending the paint.
If we make any trades it either needs to be at the PG position or PF position. And it needs to be for guys that will get some quality mins.

I think the point many people are making is that given what we CAN achieve without him, trading him for a star PG or a chance at one actually betters our championship aspirations

If that were the case then that's an issue cause that is supposed to be the one clear thing he does better than average. They certainly didn't give him that big contract for his offense or clothing style.

help defending the paint is the one job he has.

we dont need chandler, we need to offload him while he still had worth, i'd take steve adams over him 8 days a week

Portland may be a good option for moving Chandler, and see if you can get Rondo with Boston as a 3rd team. Chandler to Portland; Hardaway, Meyers Leonard, TRob and McCollum to Boston; Rondo and Freeland to NY? Salaries obviously could be an issue.

PG position goes from a weakness with Felton as a starter to a strength with Felton as a backup. Then try to convince Bynum to come to NY or sign a veteran SG to provide depth to help replace Hardaway.

After the season.

S&T Melo

for

Boozer's expiring
Mike Dunleavy JR
Chicagos 2014 1st rounder (probably top 10)
Charlottes 2014 1st rounder (top 10 protected in '14, top 8 in '15, unprotected in '16)
Rights to Nicola Mirotic (Europe's best player)
Slew of second rounders

It's time for you guys to rebuild and be done with Melo.

Hmm...just ran it through the trade checker and it actually works cap wise.

boston is going to need at least one first rounder from us.

I don't see any reason for Portland to be messing with what's working for them and trading their already weak bench. And that collection of players doesn't get you Rondo unless you included a couple more unprotected picks.
