i wouldn't be surprised to see a trade of villaneuva and a sweetener, say, tony mitchell, to utah for richard jefferson. the jazz seem to lack depth at the bigs and the pistons need to get in the playoffs.

Agree on CV and Mitchell or Siva to get us any legit SF would be a good move. CV and Monroe to get us a great SF would be good as well.

Singler and the new guy split time at the 3 and Smith plays the bulk of his minutes at the 4. win-win, Singlers at his best when hes only playing about 20-24 mins a night and Smiths at his best when hes playing the 4.

Drummond/Monroe
Smith/Monroe
Jefferson/Singler
KCP/Singler/Stuckey
Jennings/Stuckey

That's a nice 8-man rotation with Jorts and Bynum probably still getting a little PT as well.

WHAT!?!

Golden State paid Utah in draft picks to take Jefferson and Biedrins. Jefferson has zero value beyond his expiring contract. No GM with even a partially functioning brain would want to trade for him as a rotation player at this point.

You might want to get yourself checked out, mate.

I haven't watched Jefferson play at all this year but the fact that he's hitting 43% of his 3's on 3.4 attempts per game tells me he is at least a rotation player. It would be one thing if this wasn't normal for him but over his career he's a 37.5% 3-point shooter on 2.3 attempts per, pretty good for a guy that came into the league labeled as a guy that couldn't shoot.

Involve the wiz and have the celtics send tiago for Jeff green.

what's villanueva worth, by himself, not a piece of a pie-in-the-sky trade package involving smith or monroe? if the pistons want to make the playoffs, they'll turn that piece of dead weight at the end of the bench into something productive—something that hopefully won't serve as an albatross on the cap. i don't blame you for not following the jazz this year, but jefferson is playing starter's minutes.

The point is, nobody should give up an asset for the corpse of Jefferson. No one is saying CV has value.

I understand Jefferson is playing starters minutes- on a team intentionally and deliberately looking to tank into a top 3 pick this June. He's not starting for even a fringe playoff team.

Detroit Trades: Greg Monroe, Rodney Stuckey. Jonas "Best hair in the NBA" Jerebko

New Orleans Trades: Eric Gordon, Al-Farouq Aminu

No reasonings just discuss if you would like. Aminu has to approve the deal but I'd be willing to replace him with salary fillers.

P.S since when is there a trade thread?

Really?? Jefferson was 9-16 on 3's over the 4 games right before Burke came back from injury, I don't think he's had anything to do with Jefferson doing what he's done most of his career. It looks like RJ got his shot back just before Burke returned.

what are the chances we could get back knight here?

i really think we don't need a ball hogging assist PG, we need to start the plays from the post like pacers do, only need a PG who can play D&3

what would you think about this trade?

Bucks: Smith, Stuckey
Pistons: Knight, Ilyasova, OJ Mayo

and then we could move jennings for a mid first round and sign ariza in the FA

knight-kcp-ariza-monroe-drummond
??? (we need a role PG) OJ Mayo-Singler-Ilyasova-Harrellson

Warriors picked up Crawford/Brooks from Boston.

Crawford would've been a good fit here if we could've gotten him somehow

Meh. Erratic player.

I wouldn't preferred the Heat's salary dump with draft picks. Swap Joel Anthony for Jerebko.

Some national love for Monroe. Maybe boosts his trade value :)

Hardwood Paroxysm ‏@HPbasketball 15m
I want to stress this again: Greg Monroe is really freaking good and teams should be lining up to trade for him.

The Trade Thread

Post#420 » by momed11 » Wed Jan 15, 2014 11:47 pm

I'll probably get burned for this but I'm going to go ahead and ask it anyways.

Would you trade Drummond for Joel Embiid and a serviceable sf this upcoming draft day?

Embiid has shown more promise than any big man in a while.

His feel for the game, and fundamental big man moves outshine any big to come out since Dwight, he shows better skills than Dwight as well and I'm not talking 20 yr old Dwight, I'm talking current day Dwight. Oh and he's only been playing ball for 4 years now.

Tbh his arsenal is on par with Demarcus cousins - but he seems to be a better athlete and shows to have a higher IQ.

Again its just a question to gauge your feelings on Dre's potential (and if he will reach it) vs. Embiid's potential (which his game indicates is more of a sure thing).
