we better address our needs, we dont need jr. smith...
we need a big center that can rebound, and lock the pain defensively.

No way!

Joel Anthony is having his best season in a HEAT uniform while JR is a cancer. Right now, I'm keeping Joel Anthony over JR Smith, which says alot of about JR as a player. Now if NY just wants Joel, I'm all ears. I would love to trade Joel and sign Bynum. But no team in league would help Miami. This team needs another guard that can play and BIG.

His best season, GT? He's not having a season at all. His biggest highlight was running from the locker room to the free throw line after Norris Cole nearly broke his face in Denver.

Nevertheless, I don't want Earl Smith III either.

JR is in the 90th percentile in Spot Up eFG% (from the recent BBall Breakdown video). He sucks when he is left to create his own shot and/or force contested shots. But if you played him alongside LeBron he would hit a lot of 3s.

The thing is we *shouldn't* need him, as we are supposed to have heaps of guys who can hit 3s... Only problem is that Ray, Rio, Battier and Lewis have all regressed in 3FG%...

But in short; despite his decent ability to hit spot-up 3s, I don't think he is worth the subpar defence and questionable attitude. There are many other NBA journeymen who can hit 3s but come without the baggage.

We have enough knuckleheads as it is.

Chalmers
Cole(at times)
Beasley
and then JR?

I think I'd just glue my hand to my forehead to save me the effort of face palming every minute.

I wouldn't mind JR being on the heat as I think they can keep him in check, but definitely not without a training camp and that salary would make him the fourth highest paid player on the heat... which isn't attractive at all.

Good grief....Heck no! He's what's wrong with this league. Not the type of player we want to taint our team. Yuck.

If this was 2010....sure.That team was starving for a scoring threat off the bench from a wing with lots of potential.

In 2014, his skills are somewhat redundant and his attitude makes it not worth. Bynum would be completely worth the risk, though.

exactly! Best season ever! Only way to cap this season off for Joel is to be traded for value.

Here's a pipe dream scenario.

1. Miami trades Joel Anthony and a future second rounder for Jordan Crawford, a future second rounder and cash. Trade ID #6405735.

2. Miami places Roger Mason Jr. on waivers.

3. Miami signs Andrew Bynum to a two-year contract with a player option after this season.

2014 NBA Playoffs - Final Roster

PG: Mario Chalmers/Norris Cole/Jordan Crawford
SG: Dwyane Wade/Ray Allen/James Jones
SF: LeBron James/Michael Beasley/Shane Battier
PF: Chris Bosh/Rashard Lewis/Udonis Haslem
C: Andrew Bynum/Chris Andersen/Greg Oden

What rebounding problem? The way I see it, we were willing to cut Carlos Arroyo, someone that soldiered for us during our down years, on the verge of our title run. Remember when we cut Gerald Fitch to make room for Derek Anderson in 05-06?

Midseason cuts/acquisitions happen, even to those we consider favored. It's something Riley is well-known for, and it almost always works out for the best of the team. Joel and Roger are both replaceable. But I've already ranted on Jordan Crawford.

Crawford is having a great year in Boston, and I think they'd want to resign him. Danny and Pat actually had some words for each other a year or 2 ago. I doubt he would want to help us, unless it truly benefits both teams for business. But getting Joel while WE get a serviceable person, is high way robbery. Joel's value has stunk since 2011, which is when the Heat would have traded him, but we were too busy yelling "MVP" at him.
