Why are you disappointed? He's been exactly as advertised -- a solid offensive C who's effective in the pick and roll. He didn't have a reputation as an Asik-type bruiser; no reason to expect that out of him here.

You can't be disappointed in a player for lacking an aspect to his game that he's always lacked. He is who he is.
Feel free to be disappointed in EG for trading for him. But if Gortat were a better defensive player (while maintaining his existing offensive skill set), he wouldn't have been available.
