I don't think beating Indiana is impossible. Unlikely certainly, but I think they'd have a shot. I'd rather play Indy in the 2nd round than Miami. ECF is the absolute end of the line as as far as destiny for this team - unless there's some shocking first round upsets or a rash of injuries.

I think we have the potential to compete against either Indy or Miami but I don't think we'll beat either in a playoff series.

UNLESS

and this happens all the time to contending teams... whichever team we play in the 2nd round suffers a serious injury to one of its key players late in the season. I'm not wishing it on them and it is of course a long shot, but as I say it does happen and just one key injury can turn a contender into a very beatable team. Some championship runs were made a LOT easier because of this kind of thing. Just look at last year. If Rose hadn't gone down for the season maybe Miami doesn't even make the finals and they don't have the 2-time reigning champs tag but instead were one and done. If one of the key guys on either the Heat or the Pacers is out and we remain healthy then anything is possible. Very speculative, but just saying...those are the kinds of breaks that a 'team of destiny' gets.

If someone goes Tonya Harding on Lebron and George, the Raps have a chance of being the team of destiny.

Our best shot at ECF is the third seed. even then it's not likely. But it will be a nice change from what we're used to

I'm sure we'll make it to the playoffs, but probably won't stand a chance, unless our team really polishes off execution and defence. We've been playing at a much higher level than before, but I feel we'll need to polish off the game a bit more before we can think about competing in the playoffs vs Indy/Miami.

I think we'll have a better chance playing against Indy than Miami in a ECF playoff run, but it'll be highly unlikely that happens.

Why? The one Spielberg made based on this team wasn't good enough for you?

Wait...you mean to tell me this team was based on a movie?

That's crazytalk!

Did OP post this exact same thread about Bargnani after the 13th game?

I look at this roster on paper or in NBA 2K and sometimes it makes me cringe. Full of role players
playing over there heads it's hard to have any enthusiasm because we need way more talent.

You know what, I was wrong. They're actually destined to lose in the first round.

What are you, a dodo bird?

Anyway, I'm confused by this thread. Assuming the Bucks/Sixers finish as the one-two seeds in the RS, and win their first round series, how do the Raptors avoid both of those teams in the second round?
