That was useless. We traded Nash within a few years, so he never became the MVP until after we reigned him as a FA. Jackson? Did he even play a regular season game for us? And then we had by far the most amount of complete busts. No other team was even in double digits in that category, and we had thirteen.

This was done on the Colangelo watch. Everything since then has changed. New owner, new CEO, new GM, new coach.
We have to remember that the DNA of the Suns organization has completely changed since Colangelo left. We now seem to be on the right track with McDonough and Hornacek, but only time will tell.

Sarver took over in 2004, and if you look back on the lists we have had more first round busts than standouts. Nash was traded under Colangelo.
And we haven't had a top ten pick since Amare, until Len, so it's tough to gauge between the two owner eras.

Nash was traded by Colangelo because we had a log jam at PG back then and Nash respectfully asked for a trade. Nash said that one of the reasons why he came back was because of the way Colangelo treated him during his early years. If you recall, Amare, Colangelo, and Sarver all flew to Dallas and picked Nash up in a limo to pitch him on joining the Suns.
Colangelo drafted Nash, traded Nash (at Nash's request) and then called Nash at 12:01AM the day of free agency.
Yes, Sarver took over in 2004, but Sarver even admitted shadowing Colangelo that first year and learning the ropes from Colangelo. Colangelo deserves full credit for the epic team of 2004-2005 and his influence stayed with the team really all throughout the Nash era.
As far as draft picks, yeah, both the Colangelo and Sarver administrations have had their busts. Too early to tell which administration will be better.

If gets that credit, then he also gets charged for trading away the pick that became Deng. Because Sarver didn't take over for another week.
And Nash didn't hit his stride until two years after leaving us.
