I was at the game. My friend sang the national anthem.

True to what others (dobro, Dandridge) have said, the heat fans were louder when given the opportunity early in the game, but Wiz fans were way louder in the 4th when Wall was closing it out. Give us a chance ad Wizards fans will have that place rocking.

Also, the loud eruptions from heat fans seemed to have a much higher, pubescent pitch to them. Huh.

These guys can overcome the system because they are talented which is why I predicted them to still win alot of game in spite of me wanting Witt fired. There are coaches who get fired after they win 50 games. You wanna know why? Because the team is still talented enough to do better. Just because his system sucks doesnt mean we will average 80ppg when we have a talented roster

Name me one person on this board who is "in love" with Wittman. Just because people don't blame every loss on Wittman doesn't mean they love the coach.

Its funny how we have the talent to overcome Wittman's system against Chicago and Miami, two of the best defenses in the league, but that "talent" can't overcome Wittman's system against lesser teams like Milwaukee or Philly at home. In any event, if it makes you sleep better at night thinking that Wittman is the only thing holding the Wizards back to from reaching the promise land, then have at it.

A streak of hot jump shooting can mask a lot of issues. Wizards have shot 52% & 54.7% from the field over the last two games (including 17-40 from 3 pt range). On the year the Wizards typically shoot 44.7%. It's a nice little streak with two impressive wins but it's not something that's sustainable.

At least now we know his eye is on the Wizards..

It was the 3rd loss in-a-row for the Heat.

To the point of the interviewers questions to George Karl about the Heat.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. All I was saying was that it was nice to hear Karl being complementary about the Wiz, and acknowledging that the team has potential. It's a positive sign that coaches and people around the league no longer view DC as a basketball cesspool.

Many Wizard fans love to hate. Instead of celebrating a win most of what is in this thread are complaints about coaching, complaints about eight man rotation, and hate towards, Gortat, Temple and his low PER, how bad Maynor is, and Vesely sucks.

This board was better years ago.

If the Heat keep playing defense like they have in the past 3 weeks, they aren't getting out of the East.

Everything was better years ago, CCJ !! And everything is going to be better in the future too! :)

The Wizards are undefeated -- that's right! -- in the future.

And this board definitely wasn't better before I got here! Not for me, at least -- for me it's been much better since I got here and got to interact w/ you and the two opposing gangs: those who dwell in "hindsight" and those who dwell in their dreams...!

Hang in there, guy. It's gonna be great some day, it's gonna be better than the lies about the past that our memories whisper in our eagerly-listening ears! :)

Wizards were 2-0 against the Nuggets last season. I'm sure George Karl has some respect for the Wizards already. BTW, EG has hired George Karl before in Milwaulkee.

I agree Illmatic. The thing is the NBA and ESPN are riding Miami hard just like a lot of "step fans" in the Miami family of fans who popped up 3 years ago. Even the highlights on the game were mainly Miami highlights. It is good that a George Karl has the guts to give credit to a Miami opponent instead of playing the company line. We all already know the Heat are better than the Wizards. But last night, the Wizards played better than Miami.

Trevor Ariza played with a 102 degree fever, vomitted on the sidelines

WASHINGTON -- LeBron James is bigger, faster and stronger than almost anyone in the NBA. He's the best ball handler of his size since Magic Johnson, is a freak athlete, is making almost 65 percent of his two point attempts and is the beneficiary of almost every call that could go either way. He plays on a team full of knockdown shooters and has the confidence that comes with being unquestionably the best player in his profession.

And Trevor Ariza had to chase him around the court all night. With a 102 degree fever. And an inability to keep food down.

Ariza showed up to the Verizon Center before the game sick, but insisted that he play. He did as good a job as can hoped for against Bron Bron, holding him to 25 points, forcing four turnovers and holding him to 44 percent shooting. He wasn't shut down, per se, but King James simply looked like a great basketball player rather than someone who's not of this earth.

"Trevor, who was under the weather this morning, gave me his all," Randy Wittman said. "He wasn't feeling up and now he's got to come out and guard Lebron. He's probably sicker now."

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

I'm a Wizards fan, but I don't get too up or down for Wizards games. Last night was AWESOME!!! The crowd was really into the game. I normally hate LA, Miami and NYC games because most people are possers vs fans when good teams come to play. That being said, I really would not say that the Wizards where playing GREAT ball. For the past few games their long twos have not been going in. This game everything went in. When I looked up at the stats board, EVERY starter was shooting 100 or 80% from the field. Miami was missing everything the Wiz were hitting everything. It is hard to come back from 34-6 points down. I love how Miami plays. If you watch Miami hard enough, you can see that the ball never stops and players move! Washington still played with the same bad habits.
Wall played most of the game. When momentum was on Miami's side, Wall took two STUPID 3 point shots. If Lebron's pass to Cole for three would have gone in...this game would have been a loss over that one play. Sometimes you have games like that where things don't go in. I thought Ariza was great, but I'm always a fan of him and Webster. Beal has ZERO ball handling skills, look at him trying to go one on one with Allen...his cross-over was nonexistent.

I'm don't want to ruin the party and I waited 24 hours to post this....but fundamentally Miami was WAS better than Washington...the difference is that the Wiz were wet for 2 quarters and Miami extremely cold. Lebron hardly had any points in the first few quarters and it wasn't because he was shooting a lot, but passing.

The Wiz have the same issues, but a streaky shooting team can always get hot.

One thing that Wittman should learn...at 2 minutes....Miami conceded the game.

That said....I'm proud, happy elated the Wizards won...but I would not read too much into this win.

I don't think one person thinks the Wizards are championship contenders. I myself though am happy to see growth of holding a lead. The team that did mount somewhat of a contact has 3 U.S Olympians, one if which is a GOAT candidate. That team will comeback against any team. #Progress.

When I come to a game thread after a miraculous win, I am here to CELEBRATE. I do NOT want to see a bunch of grumpy sourpuss posts.

Some of you guys suck (you know who you are). You really do. And you're sucking the joy out of being a bball fan for the rest of us. Lighten up.
I've been taught all my life to value service to the weak and powerless.
