Norv Turner to interview with the Vikes. That would actually be a solid hire.

How many GMs, head coaches and coordinators has the TT/MM tree spawned so far? It seems like our guys are all over the league and there are at least a few of them that seem to be doing well.

Well, Reggie McKenzie, John Schneider, and John Dorsey were all assistants to TT when they left for GM jobs elsewhere, but all three of them were with the team before TT was GM. I would put them on a similar branch with TT as part of Ron Wolf's tree.

As for coaches, the only two that I can think of are Philbin and McAdoo.

I like the Zimmer hire by the Vikings, unfortunately. Felt he should have been given a chance the last few years. On a related note I'm surprised Brian Billick hasn't been interviewed by any teams.

I think he's been out of the game too long, kind of like Bill Cowher, Dungy and probably even Gruden. Once a coach has been out of the game and in a cush commentator position, they usually don't come back.

I think the Browns are doing the smart thing by waiting. None of the hires so far have been impressive (though Zimmer is definitely intriguing).

I don't know why Vic Fangio hasn't gotten a lot more buzz as a top candidate. He's been leading monster defenses in San Francisco and has a history of being a great trainer of linebackers. He'd be my #1 choice of the guys out there right now.

Not sure if the Colts GM actually believes this or is just trying to save face.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap200000 ... ss-gm-says

"He's not going anywhere. We have him for the long haul," Grigson said, via The Indianapolis Star. "We don't win 12 games this year if Trent Richardson isn't here. That's a fact. With a year under his belt, you're going to see a different player."

Sharper -- a hard-hitting safety who played for the Packers, Vikings and Saints -- is currently an analyst for the NFL Network.

This made me laugh.

Mike Pettine hired as Browns coach. He was someone I would have liked to bring in as DC last season.

His daughter tossed out this hilarious tweet after he got the second interview:
