Nah, they'd set it up better than that. Most Eastern teams go on a couple of long West coast road trips per season. Pretty sure they'd do the same for Europe. You go on like a two to three week excursion out to Europe and play every team there. It would certainly make things weird but there's a way to make it work.

Biz Gilwalker's European Expansion Idea:

New Western Conference:
Division 1:
LA
LA
GS
SAC
POR
UTAH
Division 2:
PHX
OKC
DAL
HOU
SAS
DEN
Division 3:
NO
MEM
MIN
IND
CHI
MIL

New Eastern Conference:
Division 4:
CHA
MIA
ATL
ORL
WAS
PHI
Division 5:
TOR
DET
CLE
NY
BRK
BOS
Division 6:
(idk which European countries would get teams definitely no idea which cities (except London), but let's just go with these six)
UK
France
Germany
Spain
Italy?
Some Eastern European country?

That's 36 teams, six divisions, six teams to a division. Games could be broken down as follows:
-24 games against the opposite conference (one game against every team, one division gets two games. that division cycles every year and repeats every three years)
-36 games against other teams in your conference not in your division (three games per team)
-20 games against your own division
-2 handpicked opponents
=82 games

Spread the season out an extra couple weeks to leave extra travel time, rest, etc for the European trips.

Top 8 teams out of 18 in each conference make the playoffs. This way it's nearly impossible for terrible teams to make the playoffs.

Could work.

Shorten the season to at least 70 games is the first thing I want to hear out of any of these ideas. And that's not only because Gilwalker proposes to spread the season out which I also don't like.

possible Euro team locations

London (UK)
Paris (France)
Berlin (Germany)
Rome (Italy)
Barcelona (Spain)
Stockholm (Sweden) or Moscow (Russia)

I dont think the NBA would do well in Europe tho
- American FA's wont go there
- Travel is bad and expensive
- To many teams in NBA
- Will Euro fans support team
- Would countries allow it
- Hard to watch games because of timezones
- Expensive to start up new teams
- New teams will most likely suck for a while

would make more sense expanding into Canada and give US some cities a team before going to Europe

Canadian Team Possibilities
-Ottawa
-Vancouver
-Montreal
-Winnipeg
-Calgary
-Edmonton

US Team Possibilities
-Honolulu
-Baltimore
-Seattle
-Las Vegas
-Pittsburgh
-Albuquerque
-Kansas City
-St. Louis

Montreal/Ottawa, Vancouver/Seattle, Vegas, KC, and St. Louis I agree teams could grow there... but the rest? I don't think places in midwest Canada are practical, as with Hawaii and Albuquerque (will enough people even come to games?). Baltimore is too close to DC, and Pittsburgh might be a little too close to Cleveland or Philly or even DC (not sure). i think if the NBA were to expand within the US a little more, Seattle and either St. Louis/Kansas City (they're pretty close, 2-3 driving hours apart, I believe) or Vegas in any case, Memphis goes to the Eastern Conference.

Given what's going on with the olympics, not sure about a team in Russia any time soon. Better off in Scandinavia IMO, though I''m not sure how much support they'd ave there.

The time zone thing is easy to fix. Lots of people have DVR but even if you don't there is always the old school method of VCR tapes!

Travel I touched on that earlier. Every team just does 1 or 2 full rounds consisting of all the European teams at one stretch. Plus Europe is a great place to visit. I can't imagine too many people complaining that they're forced to go to Europe unless they're Royce White.

Melo lighting Paul George up right now. He couldn't do that to MKG.

wow, how toxic has Crash become.
“You’re watching, you know you can still play, and you watch guys in front of you who don’t play with effort, don’t respect the game and don’t think team first.

I know he's in a crappy situation with that team wanting to tank/rebuild, but I can't imagine him getting good starter minutes on a good side.

He was my favourite player but he's past his prime.

I would hate to be the team that overpay for Lance Stephenson. Anything in excess of $8 million is too much for a player with character issues after one decent but not great season as a 3rd option. My stance on this is subject to change pending on Stephenson's performance in the upcoming postseason, but if I was a GM & Stephenson was a free-agent today I would be hard pressed to offer more than $6.5 million annually for 3 years

This. If Crash thinks he can play, then he should go out there and prove he's not one of the worst players in the league getting minutes, which I seriously think he might be right now. WTF is he doing? He's not even trying. PER 36 MINUTES, Gerald averages 6.6/5.4/3.7 and is attempting a Biyombo-esque 5.1 FG attempts per 36. Not gonna lie, Gerald either needs to retire or shut up and live with the fact he'll be in Boston raking in 8 figures for the next few years.

Gerald's career has been nothing but downhill since we traded him, we either ruined him or traded him at the perfect time to get something for him

wish we could've waited a year and got the 6th pick from Brooklyn that year like Portland did though. Can you imagine Drummond on this team in addition to what we already have???

Hes quickly becoming one of my most disliked players in the league. Which is a shame.

Rubio is currently on pace to be the worst percentage shooter in NBA history. In NBA history. Wow.
