...and if Lebron's son is indeed a budding hoops star, by moving to DC he'd be bringing his son to a region with some of the best private, Catholic and public high school bball programs in the country.

End of the day, it's taxes and endorsements. DC fails on both. National endorsements he gets anywhere.

I can see Cleveland out of nostalgia and/or guilt, or New York if they pulled off a miracle salary dump with Chandler or Anthony. Jeter had an 8 figure billboard deal in Manhattan in 2008.

LeBron already passed on NY once and would be wise to do so again, if he cares about winning championships.

That's not true. I may not be "African American" but I'm a dark Dominican. The richest of the rich (black celebs, sports figures, Latinos) band together at clubs here like Club Play in South Beach 6 nights of the week.

DC clubs, while nice, comparatively don't come close...I'm not into that stuff any longer. Had fun for a year, but it's a big deal for these guys. Haslem lived in my building for years and he was constantly clubbing......pathetic but true.

Don't agree with the vibe in Miami,.I think they'd be better off in DC as people. Just hard to explain that to people who largely value flashiness over the Smithsonian.

Don't get fixated on money/taxes. For some people, especially those like Lebron who have a ton of money and will always be making more, other things become more important.

Zards, agree to disagree.......I have some local info (associates with an agent for many dolphins and a few heat players).

Taxes are a big deal for them, and a main selling point when signing for less. This time around, James' agents, much like Jordan long ago.....is seeking max money and overpaid local endorsements for his contractual "sacrifice".

Nothing to read into. He's said similar things about many other players.

C'mon Indu. I mention education-level, culture, economics, etc. and you boil all of that down to what city has the best clubs. You really think that's all a guy like Lebron cares about?

Read my other responses......did far from that.

Taxes
Weather
Night life
Glamour

Also, I lived in dc for a long long time. I never saw the culture part much beyond free tourist attractions. What it does have is an unbelievable incubator society for young professionals. No city can touch the DC area except silicon valley.

"Even if I sell you out and stab you in the back...".

LeBJ is a frontrunner. if John Wall's squad starts winning and taking things over then he'll try to crab dribble his ass over onto the team.

Not me, man, i want to beat LeBiznatch, not recruit him. Still can't stand that guy, he's a great player who I always want to see lose every single game.

Any chance Lebron would consider coming here to win some more titles? He loves Wall and Beal and seems to like Ted and the city. Going back to Cleveland is too predictable and Mike Brown is there and his time is running out in Miami.

I would rather the wiz never win a championship than to have them win one with LeCrab dribbler.
