zeller averages 40 touches

MKG averages 1.6 "close touches" per game (less than 12 feet), less than biz.

MKG also need to do a better job of asserting himself by making cuts & acting like he want the ball. Not even Jeff Taylor shied away from the ball as much as MKG. It's really all up to him if he want a bump in touches. MKG has a confidence issue or lack offensive awareness

I think MKG could stand to learn some cuts to the basket and stuff like that. Jeff Taylor was solid at making backdoor cuts for those nice reverse dunks he enjoyed so much. MKG is most certainly good enough to make those adjustments and of course he's got plenty of time. Maybe Jeff can teach him a thing or two?

:D Thanks to all you Real GMers and especially Moderater Fats for allowing me to rejoin the world of NBA posting.
Since my last post months ago, I've continued to follow everything on line and networks surrounding our Bobcats soon to become Hornets. Coaching,Players acquired in both free agency and draft, and even our ticket sales are better than last year. The 3 players I have singled out and watched replay footage the most are (JT until his injury) CDR and MKG.
JT and CDR both fit the mold of a starting 3 that can play the 2 if asked. They both have proven range from the 3 line and can go to the rim. Both are ok defenders, but not the great defender and don't show the presence around the rim MKG does. So it comes down to just what we as a team need? At the 3 do we need a lockdown defender/rebounder/offensive rim rattler like GW was in the past for us or do we need a scorer/distributer/average defender to up our point totals. Look at all the starting 3's in both conferences and what do you see?
I love MKG to death, but we need his defense and some 20-25 point nights from him to WIN.
Otherwise make him a sixth man or trade him while he has value.

well looking at the starting SF's in the East

LeBron (Super Star)
Melo (Super Star)
George (Super Star)
Deng (All-Star)
Jeff Green (All-Around)
Khris Middleton (Sharpshooter)
Dunleavy (Sharpshooter)
Pierce (All-Around)
Evan Turner (All-Around)
Trevor Ariza (All-Around)
DeMar DeRozan (All-Star)
Josh Smith (All-Star)
Arron Afflalo (All-Star)
DeMarre Carroll (All-Around)

I'd say we need the defender/rebounder SF

On what planet is Josh Smith an All-Star SF? Have you watched a Pistons game this year? He's already built enough skyscrapers with the bricks that the Detroit skyline looks different.

By the way, Josh Smith's TS% this season is lower than Kemba's historically terrible rookie season down at 46%.

  Trade checker 6408082 MKG/Adrien for Stephenson/Scola
Stephenson is unrestricted free agent in 2014 and Scola has 1 year left.
Pros-Scola is up grade to Adrien at the 4. and we can resign Stephenson to another contract with Gordon Money, and play him at the 2 or 3
Indy gets a lockdown defender in Mkg and still has allot of offensive weapons on the floor. Adrien gives them another 4 off the bench similar to Scola only 6 years younger.
We have the money to sign Stephenson and keep JT and CDR giving us a lot more offense.
Think about where we rank in NBA on offense?

MKG could be and/or is a better scorer (scorer, not shooter) than Harrison Barnes if he shot more. I don't understand all of the hype behind Barnes in publications such as ESPN to be this future breakout star, but they ignore MKG's potential as if he's a bust or disappointment

Ah, hang in there. MKG will get zero attention till we're a good team. Till then, he's yet another terrible pick by MJ.

:noway:

MKG either need to stop rushing back from injuries, or he's not good at re-establishing himself after returning from injury, because those numbers are lackluster at best

His grace period is coming to an end. If he doesn't really step his s**t up soon the b word will start being tossed around and rightfully so. And trust me I like the guy as much as anyone but common man you can't be a #2 pick averaging 5 ppg.

Exactly. I be almost getting frustrated watching him take a backseat on the offensive end. I feel like he could be a much better player on that side of the ball if he just assert himself instead of looking like he has no business touching the basketball. I've seen the ball swing to him plenty of times on good ball movement where he either could've taken the shot or attacked the rim because the opposing defense was off balance, and instead he would opt to pass to a player that is defended. On those occasions, I just shake my head, and say to myself "there's only so long I can defend him against 'MasterIchiro'" but seriously, that's what I be thinking

Ridiculous. Those were stats since returning from injury. MKG gets no help from our coaching staff's ineptitude on offense. There are ways he can be effective but when it comes to offense our coaching staff is abysmal.

I want to see this MKG, where he's making himself available by filling the lanes, and always ready to shoot or attack the rim as soon as the ball is swung his way

FYI, he don't need no play calls to do this every night, and score between 13-15 points per game
