The Value of a Veteran (Luol and Andy)

While I'm not sure that it will lead to a bunch of wins, Andy and Luol have been comfortable playing with one another. This dynamic could prove to be very valuable down the stretch.

It was a bumpy week, but somehow (it doesn't seem this way at all) there is reason to be optimistic. I apologize for my over-reacting lol. That Kings' game put a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

We have a 5 game homestand coming up, how do we feel about it now coming off this western trip? We are 5-17 away(with 3 of those wins coming in the past week), and 10-8 at home. Maybe there is time to turn it around.

The reality stands that we need to be a very good amount above .500 for the rest of the year to finish with a respectable record. 26-16 now, just to finish 41-41.

As it stands now, you can make the playoffs in the east with around 35 wins. If we went .500 the rest of the way then we'd be in the running still. On top of the 5 home games, the schedule looks pretty good for us for the next 5 weeks. Going 4-1 or even 3-2 over the next 5 games may be enough to really get this team confident and competitive to close out the year.

Personally, the 8th seed in a conference where you need 35 wins to get there is nothing to hang our hats on. I want to finish over .500.

Well obviously we'd all rather win 41 games and make the playoffs than win 35 games and make the playoffs lol. But, playoffs were the goal and plus we get some extra basketball.

Luol has been great. This team needed, and probably still needs, vet influence. We were like the youngest team in the league or something. Hopefully we can keep it rolling.

What's great about having veterans especially those that have played with good teams is that they don't panic even when other teams make the inevitable run in the 4th quarter. There have been at least 2 wins during this west coast swing that having that calming influence helped keep a win a win.

It depends on the veteran. Jack, Clark, and Gee have all been in the league for a while.

Andy and Luol are on a much higher level than those 3.

That was kind of my point. It's the talent not the experience that is helping. Experience absent talent makes you a good coach.
