Ummm if ur gonna let melo walk in the offseason then don't u think they should just trade him now to get something rather then nothin genius

You do realize this is carmelo were talking about? Goodluck finding a team thats going to take him knowing he wont resign with them for longterm, bulls and clippers come into play as likely destinations the bulls can target him through free agency WITHOUT giving up anything

Clippers the second option blake for melo and the way blake is playing .. Yeah not happening

Dolan isnt trading melo regardless unless he flat out says he want to be traded

Lakers, bulls both can sign him n free agency what trade are we doing? Take a second and think about melo playing in a bobcats, suns, bucks jersey etc etc sounds silly doesnt it? Melos not that guy and everyone knows that.....itll be pretty rough trying to find any takers. Nobodys giving away young talent or draft picks for a 3 months rental

Like i said melo/blake swap is the only thing your potentially getting unless some team is dumb enough to sign melo at the deadline for a couple months rental

This trade is genius:

Knicks send: Tyson Chandler, Iman Shumpert, Beno Udrih, Future 1st rounder

Knicks receive: Greg Monroe, Cory Joseph, Jonas Jerebko, Spurs' 2014 1st round pick

Spurs send: Tiago Splitter, Cory Joseph, 2014 1st rounder

Spurs receive: Tyson Chandler, Beno Udrih

Pistons send: Greg Monroe, Jonas Jerebko

Pistons receive: Tiago Splitter, Iman Shumpert, Knicks' future 1st
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

In a league run by stars I'm sure there will be a taker for Carmelo if we want to move him, letting him walk for nothing is just plain dumb ....

smdh@ having to watch teams around the league stock up on young players, while the knicks have players with brittle bones and weak immune systems.

I just realized the best trade the Knicks has last year was when we traded Ronnie Brewer for OKC's second round pick(since we were going to waive him for nothing).......which we then gave to the Raptors for Bargnani :-?

Anyway Tyson to OKC for Perkins, Adam, and Dallas 2014 first, Let's go

Detroit is not working. They need to breakup their attmept to become a better team. They are better off keeping monroe and Drummond and drafting a top 5 pick this year.

We give them Amare, JR Smith, and Iman.

They give us
Josh Smith, Brandon Jennings, and Cadwell Pope.

The salaries match. trade could be done. But not sure I would.

This deal is so bad for Detroit they would be better off keeping what they have. Amare’s contract is going to finically restrict them for another year, and I don’t think they would want JR at this point. I am not too fond of Melo but if you want both Josh and Brandon Melo is who you may have to surrender.

So instead of biting the bullet for a year more and possibly bring able to get a rondo/ Aldridge type combo we should waste all that precious cap on freaken josh smith and Brendan Jennings ? :-? Really Knicks fan

What's the feeling on Shumpert up there in NYC? Is he being shopped?

Bos gets
Timmy
Amare
Phx 1st

Suns get
Shump
Ray
Gwallace

Suns get shump who they like and felton to back up dragic or play alongside him until bledsoe gets back.and added defender in Wallace.
Boston saves about 8 mil gets 1st,timmy and gets rid of gwallace and greens contracts..
Knicks of course get rondo and green...

Rondo
Jr
Green
Melo
Tyson
J.R. Smith's last-second whiff left the Knicks with a sixth straight loss. But J.R. would do it again. "I think we went with the best shot," he said.

I wouldn't say being shopped but we'd definitely entertain offers.

Something built around Shump for D-Mo?

Motie, eh? I have to admit that I didn't think that you guys would be interested in him, but it would be worth a discussion.

I was thinking something along the lines of:

Houston out: Asik
Houston in: Shumpert, 1st round pick from third team

New York out: Shumpert
New York in: what the Knicks want from the third team

Third team out: what the Knicks want
Third team in: Asik

That would be the basis for what I'm thinking. Motie would not be a deal-killer, but he's not a throw-in.

As an outsider who hasn't had a lot of opportunities to watch your team this year, I have to say that I'm disappointed that Bargnani hasn't worked out for you like I've hoped. I could see Motiejunas being a good, low-cost/high-return type player for you. Honestly, I have been wondering if you guys were just going to slide Melo back over to the 4.

What are your thoughts on a direct deal with Motie & Shumpert as the principles?

Shumpert + Bargnani for Motiejunas + Asik is not enough, huh? That Asik situation needs to be resolved before the trade deadline, though, you can't go into postseason without a backup C and he's damn sure not accepting that backup role.

I think that I'd rather keep an unhappy Asik too long rather than bring in Bargnani. Doesn't he have a player option for next year? I can't see Morey going for that.

Besides, he would not be a good fit here. I'm sure that he'd be a decent backup PF/C, but not at that price. I'll take the 8M cap hit over the 11M cap hit.

Anyone think Kryie Ivring, John Wall or Russell Westbrook can be had this off-season?

Between all of our expirings, Shump, Timmy, Tyler, JR & Felton, I think we will be in wheeling & dealing mode.

Morey's going to have to do something, though. Can't go into postseason without a backup big and he ruined Asik's trade value by letting it drag out this long.

I was thinking that if this season continues to be underwhelming for New Orleans we could bring in Tyreke Evans for something like Bargs + Timmy + Shump but none of those teams would be willing to part with their players.

Looking back, should we have offered this package for Jrue? And would it be better than Noel + NOP 1st?

Camby + Novak + #24 + 16 1st + 14/17 2nds?

I'd kill to get wall or irving here, but too many things would need to happen for those players to even be options. the only way any of those guys get moved is if it's for melo, melo agrees and the team that he agrees to go to decides they want to pay him all that money. washington is an interesting option since melo's from b-more. wall, vesely and ariza for melo works.

shumpert for montiajunas straight up works.

asik and lin for tyson and shumpert also works.
