Two D league talents for a D league talent and a future 2nd. Not worth going nuts over.

What is interesting is a roster spot is cleared. Does this mean Bynum?

I really hate the fact that we're trading Toko though. The guy has legit talent, and he deserves more burn than we're giving him.

I don't get what people see in Toko. He is athletic, young, good motor and finishes well at the rim. Problem is he turns the ball over every time trying to get to the rim and his jumper is broken. He has a PER of 3.4, and a TS% of 45.4% in limited minutes with the Nets this year, worse than Terry in both categories. He averages 4.75 TO's per game in under 30 minutes in the D League this year and averaged 4.5 last year. His TOV% was over 25% both this year and last year for the Nets. He's also averaging 4.5 fouls a game giving further credence to the knowledge that he gambles a lot on defense and struggles to keep his man in front of him without fouling. He's a free agent at the end of the year. Do you think we'd keep him if he was still here?

Bulls fan here.

Teague... sucks. I don't see any other way to put it. We've given up on him. He looked lost in his first summer league, he looks lost in NBA games, he's only looked decent in this year's summer league.

Pros:
He's still very young. He does have insane quickness and the ability to get in the paint. He's a willing distributor. He's a decent defender.

Cons:
He hasn't shown any progress. He's a poor shooter and his mechanics are broken. He can't make layups either. He's not a great passer. He has poor court vision, so he hits a shooter coming off a screen too late, or doesn't kick it out when he gets too deep in the paint.
Most of all, he's scared. He's scared to bring it across half court, he's scared to stand outside the 3point line, he's scared to make a pass, he's scared to shoot and he's scared to use his ability to get inside the paint.

Maybe now that he's not terrified of Thibs pulling him he'll turn out okay. He's been OK-ish in the D-League I was told.

Out of the three players traded, Teague is probably the worst of them (Toko's probably the best of the 3, but he had no role here and would've likely been let go after this season and replaced with Bogdanovic), but I just don't see any being a consistent NBA-level player. I hope any one of them proves me wrong.

surprised there's no first rd pick going out from the nets...

either way, this trade is meaningless other than "roster" spot cleanup....

Looks like a roster spot basically. Got rid of Tyshawn, who can't run the point as we'd want out of our #3 PG. Replace him with Teague in exchange for Toko who doesn't have the minutes here.

Hopefully Teague can get the Jason Kidd-effect and play with confidence. But I'm guessing he'll be nothing more than a placeholder.

Wonder what his contract situation is as well, and if he can be let go easier than either Toko or Tyshawn.

According to HoopsHype and ShamSports, he has another year.

Bulls picked up Teague's option, so he's guaranteed 1.2M for next year.

Don't understand these moves really.

Teague has been horrible and did nothing in the D league never mind the NBA. We lose probably the best player in the deals in Toko to a team who have a top head coach who could help mold Toko into a nice rotation player down the road. He's got the raw tools so with some guidance we could look like fools down the road with this deal.

Sending money out to get rid of Taylor is again going to limit our ability to go buy a pick or 2 on draft night for euro stashes or players who have dropped or whatever.

I don't like these trades at all.

At the minute it's looking like Billy King strikes again

I'm not much of a Teague fan either, but do you think the Nets would've brought back Toko this offseason?

Nets got a 2nd rounder in the deal. It's almost the same.

open roster spot seems like the only reason for these moves
