Re: All Things "Brooklyn Nets" Thread
Several good things from our trip to London:
1) Blowout win
2) Apparently, our fanbase is growing internationally. A lot of people were cheering for the Nets and wearing our gear at the game.
3) and probably most importantly, Proky isn't looking to sell the team anytime soon:

The guy is so smooth, reserved, and smart. he never panics and never lets things get to him and always maintains control. great having him as an owner.

Re: All Things "Brooklyn Nets" Thread
I think we should consider starting AK47 at this point, either at SF or PF. Deron, Johnson, and KG are sure fire starters. So that leaves 2 spots for Anderson, Livingston, Pierce, and Kirilenko.
I prefer using Kirilenko at PF, and since Pierce and Johnson have proven to be redundant, I'd go with Anderson as the starting SF.
Deron
Johnson
Anderson
AK47
KG
With Livingston, Pierce, and Blatche anchoring the bench. Only concerns imo would be that AK47 moving from the bench to the starting lineup would seriously reduce our bench production, since he's been giving us a huge spark off the bench since coming back, and that PF might be too physically demanding for AK and his back.
But I definitely would like to see Livingston return to the bench, because we have no backup PG outside of him.

he has no one to blame but himself and his agents. he held all the cards. if he wanted to be here bad enough he would have been here. its a shame, we make a trade for dwight and we would be in such a better spot right now.

does it really matter if he starts or not if he can only play 20 minutes a night? id rather go with the starting lineup we have which has played well and then finish with AK if we need to

The developmental projects - Darius Johnson Odom and Adonis Thomas are balling.

Re: All Things "Brooklyn Nets" Thread
Without him, there is no Kidd era. This is a horrible loss.
Former Nets owner Lewis Katz was killed along with six other people in a fiery plane crash in Massachusetts, his business partner said Sunday. He was 72.
Harold H.F. "Gerry'' Lenfest confirmed Katz's death to The Associated Press, saying he was informed by their lawyer, Richard Sprague. The crash came just days after Katz and Lenfest gained full control of The Philadelphia Inquirer by buying out their co-owners for $88 million in a deal that ended an ugly monthslong feud among the partners.
Katz, who had been an investor in the Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network, bought the Nets in 1998 and owned the team during its most successful years in New Jersey, as the team reached the NBA Finals in 2002 and '03. He sold the team in 2004.

As I've said before look at the return on your investment.
EVERY OTHER TEAM in the league has spent their money more wisely than the Nets have. Think about that.
We come dead last in asset management. Smh...

Not trying to promote them but they're the only source that's discussed this info.

You'd have to think that at some point they'd do something to change things up. Fire somebody...do something.

Yormark is working tirelessly on these promotions - star wars night/brook lopez bobblehead last night, ugly t-shirt tomorrow, all in an effort to mask the ugly product.
The way the Mets were able to capture the attention of the city this past fall just goes to show you put a winning product out there, people will pay attention, show up.
And yes, some accountability would be great. I will show up when King is out.

People will show up when we give them something to be proud of. Everyone is aware of our piss poor situation. I heard a lot of fans in attendance admitting how awful we were going to be in preseason. My last Nets game was the first preseason game and losing to Fenerbache confirmed it would be my last.

Yup. I don't want to spend $80+, be frustrated at the Nets for 2.5 hours and then be frustrated with myself for thinking it was a good idea to spend money on them in the first place.
I haven't been to a game since last year and I have no intention of going back until changes are made.

If you have multiple owners, you most likely need majority agreement on the major moves the organization makes. WIth just one owner, as soon as Proky decides he wants a change he can make it since he doesn't need to convince other minority owners of his position.
As much as I would like to think it's a sign of good things to come as far as the front office is concerned, I really doubt Ratner was the one keeping us from doing things. I'd LOVE to be wrong though.

Prok already owns the brand new training center and D-League team. Once the final numbers of attendance, revenue, ticket sales of Barclays comes in and the overall operating cost goes up now that Ratner is no longer in the picture. That should force Proky to think long and hard about where this is headed. I don't really see him being comfortable paying King, Hollins to continue to show ineptitude while he's trying to provide these lavish facilities, developmental territories for a sh*t product in return. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the moves that has been made over the last five seasons. They were with the intent to win and create success. Considering this is the first season we've been awful from start and likely to finish, I don't think he will sit back and pay millions for this nonsense any further.

If he extends King, I'm going to think long and hard about how involved I'm going to be going forward.
I don't like wasting hours of my time on garbage. And to think that they already have the worst viewership in the league...SMH.
