Last summer we knew that signing Smith/Jennings were bad moves for Detroit. If we can clearly see a move is a mistake why can't GMs see it?

^ What's really bad is Detroit envisioned a starting lineup of Smith, Monroe, and Drumand at the 345 spots. That type of oversized lineup may of worked years ago, but in today's stretch em out league it was doomed to fail.

I won't be surprised to see Dumars gone before the end of the season.

huge game. Part of me thinks we will blow them out like the last home game and part of me thinks this .500 thing is in our head and we will play tight. We have to get over it sooner or later and what better time than now. Wall & Beal should dominate

I still don't know what to expect from this team.

I'm gonna say W, just because there's no way we let the curse of .500 defeat us again

we're now 11th ranked in scoring defense. Not bad.

opponents are shooting 46% against us though which is bad

Would love to see more drives like that one from John. Hesitation and quickly changing gears - then going up strong to the rim. Not out of control, not sacrificing his body to the floor, not trying to get on ESPN. Just a slick veteran move, looking to put the ball in the bucket.

I know Booker played great last night but I don't like the matchup against Monroe or Drummond. Would like to see Seraphin but I guess that's only possible if one of those 3 bigs are in foul trouble.

Love the ball movement. Booker is playing a little like Ves in that he's playing within himself. Of course, he's a much better option at this point. Now if Beal can do the same and pass up his first touch for somebody who has a better look.

Why did Gortat double Smith 18 feet from the basket? I don't understand that rotation.

Other than that, the defense has looked solid. But all 5 players have to box out (including Wall and Beal). Beal in particular hasn't been as good a rebounder as he was before this most recent injury. That was a strength of his in college.

Despite a missed layup, another good drive by Wall off the give & go.

Is it just me, or is it infuriating to see the big men slap the ball instead of rebounding it? A loose basketball is not your bored monkey - grab a hold of the orange and rip it away from the opposition.

Agreed. They're passing up OK shots to get great shots. It's a fun offense to watch.

Agreed. I said it before, I think Gortat has a finger injury and he can't seem to corral the ball in traffic. It's not like he's as physically weak as Ves who has to "slapbound" it.

Booker tweaked an ankle there. Doesn't look too bad, but I'd be surprised to see him back in this one.

They didn't take him out during Ariza's FT. He's clearly trying to walk it off.
