Not kidding about booker though, with the height, the ridiculous straight line speed & a little bulk he could be a terror at TE or outside linebacker.

At least for a game or two.

A what point is it time to.

Nuke it.

Just doesn't seem like the moves add up often enough. We get little glimmers of good stuff like becoming a good defensive team but them it seems another shoe drops.

Wall will look like a beast, but then there is just something missing from his game/personality.
Beal is a monster, but he can't drive and he feels its important to thank Jesus publicly before every interview.
Nene is an awesome big and talented, but he is a FIAT puss.
Crawford has made game, but he is so strange you can't hardly listen to an interview.

Man, why did Okafor have to get hurt. Really. Just once can't things work out for this team ?

Well, just one more year of things sucking and then it will get better

Man, bring back the Crawford, Nick, Dray and McGee. At least that was entertaining.

Oh no... not that!! :)

Okafor getting hurt wasn't the problem. Building a roster that was useless if a veteran w/ an injury history got hurt -- that was the problem. Drafting horribly in 2011 -- that was the problem. Failing to make use of round 2 picks in 2012 -- that was the problem (look at Kyle O'Quinn's production so far this year).

You can't turn a corner if your GM keeps ramming you into a brick wall.

Wall....

John Wall (back spasms) felt good during shootaround and said he's "ready to go" for Sunday's game.
Wall didn't seem very optimistic after skipping Saturday's practice, but he shouldn't have any limitations now that his spasms have subsided.

- True or not, Wall is going to suck it up and play..

vs Nene..

Nene (calf) hasn't recovered as quickly and he's now considered doubtful to suit up vs. Miami.

One player is hungry. One is cashing a check. And looking stylish doing it.

Wasn't Wall supposed to hook up with Gary Payton over the summer, sure doesn't look like it...maybe he was too busy posing nude, house hunting, getting tats and chasing tail

Will Wall ever learn to use a pick properly ?

What is stopping this from being learned ?

He seems to either leave early or run away from the pick.

2) What is with the stupid play where Wall has to run all the way around the baseline just to get the ball at the top of the key. Couldn't he just learn to use a pick properly and save himself a lot of running ?

3) If he would just back his man down on the side post ala what LeBron does, he could skip pass from there and start the perimeter passing around the horn. Or he could finish a drive from the same spot. Lebron starts the offense like this often. I think Wall should be able to do the same.

They would get a lot more offense out of Gortat and dare I say Ves, if Wall could use a pick better. It would even help Kevin.

LeBron didn't even start operating out of the post until his 7th or 8th year in the league

Walls averaging more 3FGA than FTA. :-?
On a positive note, he's 3rd in the NBA in assists. So far 20 and 9. Fantastic line.

Finally seeing Walls hard work paying off. He keeps shooting like this. No reason he shouldnt be a All-Star

I am still sort of sick for John that his effort against Detroit last night had to go to waste, but wow.

As a paying customer, I must say that John's performance alone was worth the price of admission last night. He was absolutely spectacular -- one of the best games I've ever seen him play. If his shooters had shown up, he might have had 10 or 12 assists too.

The kid is a star, on his way to becoming a legit superstar. He's 23, fierce, uber-talented, plays the right way, backs down from no one, has improved markedly and is still doing so...

Appreciation indeed.

On the season Wall is shooting 33% from 3.7 attempts per game. That is encouraging but the strange thing is that he is more successful on the longer shots out near the top of the key. He is terrible on the corner 3.

http://stats.nba.com/playerShotchart.ht ... rID=202322

He had a lot nice plays last night but one i really liked was in the 2nd quarter. He was dribbling to his right and lifted up his left hand as if he was going to shoot a pullup j. Then he drove hard and left his defender completely flatfooted.

Agree. I was also at the game and left both disappointed by the loss and elated by what the Zards have in JW. That one steal and streak down court (with a vapor trail behind him) late in the game where he missed the layup (was probably fouled) may have been Wall's most impressive play. It reminded me of my days as a G'Town season ticket holder and watching the absolutely amazing speed and athleticism of Allen Iverson.

Wall is going to be the best GUARD in the game if he learns how to control the flow of the game. Athletically he has no peers because if you're smaller he still has speed and quickness advantage and if bigger same deal. Once he learns when to get everybody off while staying in the flow night after night he's going to more than justify his contract. Just a few more tweaks to his game and seeing his rapid improvement with his jumper and pacing and use of dribble moves he's just waiting to blow. This team USA slight should only fuel him further.

It's bad, but it's less egregious than Dwyane Wade starting over him actually, considering how much time he's missed.

Less egregious than Kobe Bryant being an AS starter in the West. At least Kyrie actually deserves to be at the game. Also Blake Griffin starting over LaMarcus Aldridge is also worse IMO.

The AS voting creates stupid results every year.

I would also have Wall ahead of Wade, but I think Wade is more deserving than Kyrie for this season. The Heat are hovering at .500 without Wade while they are an elite team with him on the court. I would start either Lowry or Affallo alongside Wall.

Aldridge starting over Griffin is kinda bad, but it's not nearly as bad as Irving > Wall. Griffin has a much better TS% and is only 1.0 PER behind while being a better passer and an underrated defender. John Wall is an elite PG, Irving is such a ridiculously flawed player at this point that he shouldn't even be in the conversation for best PG. There are about 8 or more PGs I'd take over Irving at this point.

Wall
Curry
Paul
Parker
Lawson
Conley
Lillard
Lowry

And if Rose, Rondo and Westbrook were healthy, I'd take them too.

Yes that speaks to the sheer depth of the position, but Irving is a flawed PG to begin with.

It's an absolute joke that Wall isn't in the All-Star game. He should be the STARTER, and he's not even in the lineup. NBA fans are stupid.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Return to Washington Wizards
