Re: The Official French Ligue 1 Thread
Well Monaco has def been playing a lot worse over the past couple months or so after their good start. Several of their players and their coach have admitted that the level of play is bad right now, and they got several lucky wins.
The good news for Monaco fans is that the results still aren’t bad for now, but that won’t continue if they can’t break their skid.
Rodriguez and Toulalan are their only consistent high level players at the mo.
Falcao and Rivière have gone cold after their early hot scoring streaks, as have offensive mids Carrasco and Ocampos (who were both on the bench in the last game). High transfer noob Kondogbia hasn’t been able to make his way onto the field.
Kurzawa and Subasic are doing OK. Moutinho is doing OK overall too, but he’s not playing at his usual level anymore. Abidal and Carvalho aren’t bad, but the old guys would likely be doing better if they could catch some breaks here and there, wonder why Isimat-Mirin isn’t getting more playtime so that those 2 can rest a bit.
Monaco’s priority in the winter market seems to a central defender and their current target is Kurt Zouma from St Etienne, who is also being followed by Inter Milan and Chelsea according to reports.
I don’t think that Ranieri will lose his job this winter. Monaco is more likely to go after a new coach in the summer, when they will be a be a more attractive destination with a European cup participation. Maybe they’ll go after André Villas Boas to continue the ex-FC Porto connection

Re: The Official French Ligue 1 Thread
God I hate Rinieri so much. He starts a 2 striker line up and after Falcao was injured and out of shape for so long, he finally looks really good, very active involved in the offense, had 3 shots saved off the line and a PK that should have been called. The other striker has not even been seen, so in the 69th minute Rinieri takes Falcao off for a winger and leaves Germain up front by himself. WTF dude? This is the game that could have gotten Falcao off his slump and back into his glory days, but instead, Rinieri wastes his good form today and benches him.
What an idiot.
What an idiot.

And I don't care about the cup game later this week. When you have a player that is trying to regain his form and is playing well, you leave him in the game to try to get him out of the slump.

Ocampos with a nice bicycle kick goal to relieve some of my frustration. Still disagree with Falcao being the one taken out

Assisted by James. Kid is having a superb season. Seems like he's been getting an assist every game. Can't believe Rinieri benched him for like 8 games at the start of the season. Despite of that, James still leads the league in assist lol

Pray for Rinieri. I've never hated anyone that I never met this much. He takes him out of a league game that they had to win and In he played really well to save him for a game against a freaking 4th division team. What coach in the world plays their superstar against a 4th division team?
Now he might miss the world cup. Ugh. F u Rinieri. F U VERY MUCH

That's bad. I'd extremely surprised if that's not an ACL injury.

awful tackle :\
I hope he doesn't miss the World Cup. He was probably on top of my list of players i was really looking forward to watching this summer in the big tournament. It doesn't look goo though.

I always hated this Monaco move. I can only hope he recovers and his career is not affected long term. Let's see if Jackson is the real deal now.

That really sucks. And I was really close to jump the Columbian bandwagon, thanks to J-Mezzy.

Re: The Official French Ligue 1 Thread
You can still be. We got a pretty decent squad. As big of a loss as Falcao is, striker is our deepest position. We can't afford to lose James or Cuadrado though, we would be done for
