Or are you guys thinking Rondo plus add on during the off season?
Rondo alone would make an immense difference. Defensively it would be night and day. Which is really the main problem here.
Plus, while Rondo isn't as good of a shooter as Jennings from 3, he's actually a better midrange shooter. Rondo shot 51% from 16 ft-3pt last year. So he's got the ability to keep defenses honest with his jumpshot and keep the court spread. I'll take Rondo shooting 51% on long 2s and taking them all within the flow of the offense, over Jennings shooting 34% on 3s and shooting them out of rhythm
He's also just a better PG offensively and knows the game way better/way more experienced. He's also not going to take shots that can hurt you and makes better decisions, as well as a much better finisher inside/better penetrator.
Plus he has the clout to keep Smith in check. He's not going to be afraid to yell at Smith if he takes a bad shot, and just his overall communication level that he brings on both ends is much greater than Jennings. This team needs someone who isn't afraid to talk and direct the team on the court, and just is a better leader period & just fills so many needs on this team it would be the perfect fit in my opinion
