At that point the Nets probably thought Brook Lopez was worth more than Dwight and wouldn't have done the trade anyways.

Deep you should of known that the truth was going to start leaking out as time goes by. At the end of the day, I think this is just a learning experience for young Buss siblings, hopefully. I think its kind of a positive, that this year has been quiet so the media is not focused all on the internal problems. Free agents may forget a lot of the drama that was going on.

Sorry about tooting my own horn, but I tried to bring this to yall attention that he wanted to go to the Nets before the trading deadline. I keep hearing what he revealed during the that time from my "Sources" lol ( I do have a few). Any ways, I believe Mitch really thought he could change Howard mind or pin him in a corner that he will returned and it backfired. Maybe thinking if they made a huge playoff run that would create a relationship with the team and motivate him coming back. And at the end the day, they just took a chance and got burned.

lol

Howard can suck a fat one....NOT giving into his demands is the sole reason Orl. became the BIGGEST winner in the trade last summer. As far as BK goes, what did they have to offer last season anyways? The pick they gave up to Bos looks good now cause they suck but if they had Howard instead of the two old geezers from Bos, that pick would probably be in the late 20's anyways and not to mention we would've gotten scraps from Minn if they were indeed part of it. Probably scrabs like Pek/fillers, they definetly wouldn't have given up Love, BK would've probably given Minn Lopez and making them a little bit better. If the deal was directly with BK, would any of you guys be happy with having to tie up money on Lopez for 3more years with his continuing leg problems? Dude is probably gona turn out like big Z soon with all the leg braking problems he's having.

Howards a moron, dude could never make up his mind on anything. He just wanted out of Orl. anyway he could. He says he wants to just be happy...so lets see how much longer he'll be "happy" with Hou when they get bounced out of the playoff year in and year out like he did in Orl, this aint the east he's NOT gona luck out that 1 year they made it to the finals where he didn't have to face Bos at full strength

wtf. Anyhow, lets move on already. Keep allowing our front office the rope to execute this plan of theirs. Either that rope is going to hang themselves. Or their free agency plan of saving and acquiring top notch talent is going to work.

One thing I think jim and Mitch have carried over from jerry buss and possibly Jerry west is that if you're price isn't met you walk away instead of caving.

Agree....what them hell is Tasp talking about? This is a business and even if Mitch told Howard that (which I highly doubt) you don't cave to a players demands ever.

when did this happen? only example i could possibly stretch to fit the description was in 2004 when the lakers traded away shaq, but even then shaq and dr. jerry buss had their own issues about shaq's contract demands and the way he went about trying to embarrass ownership into giving him his contract.

It could be the time we traded Bynum for Kidd, or signed Carlos Boozer, or hired Brian Shaw, or traded Caron Butler, or............

Similarly a year or 2 later when Kobe asked to be traded. Management searched for a trade and found a couple. Buss brought Kobe into his office and said.. " We are going to trade you, do you really want this?" <- paraphrasing.

Kobe was rumored to be upset when the team decided to trade Caron Butler, who was one of his best friends on the team, because Phil wanted Kwame.

I can also see the gaffe on my part as well about that.

I think it's funny how I've seen some people compare this D12 bullsh*t with LeBron's "Decision"... there's a major difference, when LeBron fleed to Miami he was hated by many but respected by all, in D12's case he's hated by all (except in Houston) and respected by a very few.

I believe Kwame was already on the team at that time and I believe he was undergoing reconstructive surgery on his left ankle. Kobe was pissed because he was pushing Buss for some pieces around him to compete and I believe those pieces was Booz, Kidd, Artest.

I remember this. Buss would have traded Kobe to the Pistons. Glad that didn't go down.

Kupchak traded Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins for Kwame Brown. It was a team of Luke, Kwame, Smush, Odom, Bynum, Sasha, and some other guys with Kobe until Bynum got injured by Kobe in Memphis and Mitch pulled the trigger on Kwame and a young Marc Gasol for Pau.
