Today is our annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. This is in dedication to Dr. King who became a activist during the Civil Rights Era. Dr. King fought for the rights of African Americans to become equal by means of establishing the right to vote and to receive an education as worthy as their counter parts. Dr. Kings would use non-violent tactics such as leading peaceful protests and sit ins get his valid points heard loud and clear. Dr. King is most famous for leading the "I Have a Dream" speech on the steps of Washington D.C. to which he wanted children and adults of all color to respect and love one another. And not to judge each other by skin color but by the content of our character. Dr. King left his mark not only in the African American community, he left his message for the world to take heed and follow by his example. We as human beings have to do our best to lead by example and be more respectful and learn to love one another no matter what skin color and differences we represent.

Be universal and remember there's only one race we stand for.... THE HUMAN RACE!

So far this game is very similar to the Kings game from Friday night. The Grizzlies in this quarter need to play smart defense and stop putting the Pelicans on the line. They need to get a run going and put the Pelicans on the offensive. The refs are not helping with the quick whistles.

MC11 at the line and needs to make these two. The defense needs to lock down the Pelicans to the perimeter and force them to miss those shots.

AD makes the shot at the buzzer to go up four for the Pelicans.

Stiemsa gets call for a loose ball foul and puts Marc Gasol on the line.

Goes 1-2 from the line.

Games like this show that teams can be resilent when you're missing key players and still manage to beat a team. This was loss due to 18 TOs' and allowing the Pelicans to get to the line way too much tonight. And the refs killin the flow of the game didn't help matters. The Grizzlies will look to regroup as they have a home to home matchup with the Rockets this weekend.
