I think Pistons Homers would be surprised. Monroe was decent as a starting Center. I bet teams would lineup for his services if they truly thought he was available.

I'd love to get Kyle Anderson for our team. He's putting up some insane numbers, but is still only projected as a second round pick at this stage (despite being ranked #3 in the 2012 high school class), around the 40 range, which is probably right about where we'll end up. I reckon he'd be great for our team.

If we could somehow get his UCLA teammate Jordan Adams too (isn't projected to come out until 2015 at this stage, but is having a very good year), I'd be very happy with our draft.

I don't get the hype on GRIII myself. Doesn't seem to have improved that much this year.

Why is Kyle Anderson so lowly rated, and why is GRIII so highly rated (people were talking about him as a possible lottery pick if he'd left Michigan after his Freshman year, and he was in lottery discussion earlier in the season too)? To me, Anderson should be a lottery lock, and GRIII should be staying with the Wolverines for his Junior year.

im thinking its because hes considered too slow to defend the 3, and too skinny/weak/unathletic to defend the 4. but if he can bulk up a little, the potentials there to be a pretty good point forward. the kid has a crazy wingspan so with a little added strength I think he could hold his own defensively at the 4.

Beno Udrih just requested a trade from the Knicks, and apparently the Celtics are motivated to move Jeff Green. If I'm Dumars, I'm making a play for both players. This team obviously has a lot of problems, so it's not like adding these two guys will fix all our problems or anything. But Udrih would instantly be our best backup PG, and Jeff Green would be a solid starting SF or a great role player off the bench until one of Monroe/Smith is traded.

I wouldn't even bother playing him at the four for any extended period TBH.

Shane Battier is no great athlete, and he's been one of the best defenders at the 3 spot for a decade. It's all about working with what you have.

If that's the only thing holding him back, that makes even less sense, considering others rated higher than him have similar weaknesses without his strengths.

I expect Joe to target a Center. You know, the one position we don't need. Joe loves "versatile" players. And when we don't have the minutes, Cheeks will move the Center to the SF position.

I'd offer Charlie V for Udrih straight up, and Monroe for Green and one of the first rounders Boston have stockpiled.

Why wouldn't Boston trade KCP for Green and Bass and save 14M next season? That could be used to sign Hayward.

Gordon is inconsistent, oft-injured, and on a huge deal, why would New Orleans say no?

Boston wants to trade Jeff Green, a Smith for Green trade would be awesome.

Boston pairs Smith with his buddy Rondo and goes back to being a decent PF and we get a SF that can shoot so Monroe/Drummond go back to being our focal points.

Jennings/KCP/Green/Monroe/Drummond- make it happen Joe!

First trade: J. Smith for J. Lin and T. Jones and a first round pick.
Second trade: G. Monroe and CV for T. Young and T. Wroten.
Third trade: B. Jennings for D. Waiters and A. Gee.

Lin/Stuckey
Wroten/Waiters
Young/Singler
Jones/pick
Drummond/Harrelson

This team sucks but probably have a better record than we have now and still very young.

now that Sanders is officially on the trading block, I think something centered around Monroe going to the Bucks and Sanders going to a 3rd team might open a few more doors for us. I think they're pretty similar value wise, but they're complete opposites. Sanders is one of the better young interior defenders in the league, but is limited offensively and we know what Moose is.

I know Milwaukee is saying they want picks, but a Moose/Henson frontcourt has a lot of potential and might be too tempting to pass up. the ability to possibly swap Moose for Sanders means we can deal with teams who don't really need Monroes skill-set, but may be interested in adding a young D anchor to their team, hopefully allowing us to maximize our return on Monroe if we do end up moving him.

New Orleans wants to get rid of Gordon's contract, and should be interested in Monroe given their current banged up front court and lack of offensive firepower around the rim. Given their lack of leverage here (open desire to trade and Gordon's injury history), I'd need a sweetener to take on Gordon. Unfortunately they traded away their 2014 1st to Philly, so we'd have to settle for a 2016 pick (which they'd likely be unwilling to part with) or facilitate a 3-way trade in which we take in someone else's 1st or an additional asset (likely at SF or an additional bench shooter).

Then you flip Stuckey/CV for Jeff Green and possibly Brandon Bass. Celtics get cap relief next year, and help the tank, we get a true SF and some additional depth at the 4. New line-up:

Jennings/Bynum/Billups/Siva
Gordon/KCP/Luigi
Green/Singler/Jerebko
Smith/Bass/Mitchell
Drummond/Harrelson/Smith

Plus a future 1st round pick or additional assest (if we take on another player, waive Siva).

I think it's key that if we take Gordon, we don't give up KCP. We need that youth and depth in case Gordon goes through an extended injury in the future and we want KCP to develop and possibly take the reins once Gordon's contract is up. Ideally we'd like to flip Bynum in one of these trades as well (to free up future cap and thin out our PG herd), but that's not make or break.
