Why for Orlando?
Dump AA for a cheap young replacement in KCP. Magic save 22M by dumping Nelson and Big Baby are taking shots away from their young players and minutes that could be going to younger cheaper replacements.

Why for Boston?
Get rid of Gerald Wallace's contract in exchange for 1 less year of Jerebko, Singler, Datome. Move Rondo and Green for a franchise C in Monroe and Jennings. If Boston signs Monroe for 14-15M they still will save 7-8M next season which they can use to sign Hayward!

Why for Detroit?
Great starting lineup with an awesome bench (excluding Chauncey of course). With that lineup plus the addition of a veteran SG, we can make a run for the 2nd round and possibly the Conference Finals.

Rondo / Nelson
Afflalo / Billups
Green / Wallace
Smith / Big Baby
Drummond / Harrelson

Only negative to this trade: Dumars keeps his job.

Orlando is giving value for garbage and Boston won't give up Rondo for Monroe, let alone throw in Green.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Orlando is getting back KCP, a top 10 draft pick, that is making 6M less than Afflalo

They are dumping Nelson and Big Baby for pure expiring contracts and saving 22M, savings that big has value as well, which allows free agents to be signed in the off season.

Rondo for Jennings and Monroe is more than fair for a PG that is coming off a major injury and hasnt even shown if he is back to his old usual self.

Boston throws in Green because we are taking on Wallace for 10M a year for 3 years, a contract no one will touch. No team in the NBA has any incentive to take on 30M for a old broken down player in Crash. The money Boston saves on this deal will let them sign Hayward and Monroe this offseason. Jennings - Bradley - Hayward - Monroe - Sullinger doesnt look too bad.

I doubt Gores would even sign off on a deal like that. Its got us spending a LOT of money, and Gores probably already feels he got burned by paying Jennings/Smith with no more wins to show for it.

He shouldn't be a GM anymore anyways! Please, basketball gods- find a way to fire Dumars mid-season so we can have a clean slate heading into the summer.

And nearly impossible to retain. Green and Afflalo have player options they'll likely decline after the 2014-2015 season, and all of them are likely looking at contracts between $10-$15 million.

i think if Detroit could move Monroe and Jennings for Rondo and Green while flipping Green to a third team for assets. I would be down for the deal.

I expect Joe to trade a big for Rondo. Why?

Because we have a bunch of guards already (Jennings, Stuckey, KCP, Bynum, Billups), and if there's one thing you can count on - it's Joe Dumars going out and getting a player for a position which is basically filled.

I want to somehow flip Monroe, Jennings, Stuckey, Jerebko and CV for Rondo, Green, Faverani and in all likelihood Wallace of course.

Drummond/Faverani
Smith/Harrelson/Mitchell
Green/Wallace/Datome
KCP/Singler/Billups
Rondo/Bynum/Siva

At this point I'm just happy to hear we're interested in guys that I actually want to see here in Rondo, Green and Afflalo.

I know Hes rusty but Rondo has looked like crap since being back. Boston might be a bit ridiculous for what they expect to get back in a trade. They act like they are trading Durant or something.

He's amazing, LeBron might be handing over that torch quicker than I thought.
