Once the draft is over Ill put together team of undrafted players. Cant believe the 6th C of the era is undrafted.

Moses Malone was the best steal of the draft. Yet Marion might be the biggest reach.

Bernard King criminaly undderated.

I did feel Marion was a bit of a reach, I was debating between him and Rodman, but Marion's offense is better. I'm happy with how my team turned out tho, even with the Marion reach.

Exactly. It's not about always drafting the best player, or drafting better players over worse players, but rather about finding certain players who fit the system, like you did with Marion, already having your leaders (Moses and Wade).

I suspect that it's the same guy that I was considering in the seventh round. When the draft ends, I'm gonna explain why I didn't draft him.

Sorry, but the player that I mentioned in one of my previous posts has already been mentioned by ardee earlier on. Besides, he's such a high-profile player that I don't think anyone would overlook him regardless if I mentioned him or not.

I personally think LeBron at the fifth pick was the biggest steal of the draft.

Very good pick, he's the 2nd best player on your team IMO. I feel like you were going crazy with role players

Thanks. I think peak Zo would be a little better than him, and more valuable considering his defensive impact (and I already have Kobe as a scorer, so English won't be the unquestioned #1 option on offense, they'll be sort of 1a/1b, I imagine).
CaliBullsFan wrote: I feel like you were going crazy with role players

That's because after I got Kobe, I knew that I have to be aware not to put too many high scorers on my team, because otherwise, they'd cause friction, chemistry-wise. I'll have to let Kobe take a lot of shots regardless, so I'd rather have good defenders and unselfish players with good passing, like Miller and Odom, than some true offensive juggernauts.

I think that my top 5 (Kobe, Zo, English, Mullin, Billups) is probably as good as any in this draft. Mully will be a great leader for my second unit off the bench. Now I just have to find a way to find some playing time for him.

Oh, and good pick with Adams. He didn't really have a great career, but at his peak in 1991, he was putting up almost 27/4/11. That's a crazy statline. :o

I don't even know why we're even continuing with this. I clearly have the best team. My bench is better than the starters of some of these teams. :)

you have a good team but I was surprised you (or anyone, really) drafted rose. he was still a mediocre player in his first and second years. he was awful defensively and he was simply not a good, consistent player offensively either. he did come into his own in his third year so it'll be interesting to see how the judges evaluate his impact on your team. at no point in those three years though was he a good defender (in fact in 2011 the only worse defensive player on the bulls was kyle korver).

I know it's your team but I think there were a lot better options at point guard.

I agree. I actually wanted a different back-up PG who I'll mention later or if he gets picked. But I do see his value when it comes to drive and dish, and he still had a good pull-up the season before his MVP year though its %age went down his MVP season due to being less assisted on. He was also rather unimpressive in the PO due to being the lone real offensive threat, so there's that. Still, he's coming off the bench for what...15 to 20 minutes per game...who can create his own shot and will look better with Redd and Batum spreading the floor, and Redd in particular being a scorer himself. Batum is also another guy who can initiate the offense.

I like your Rashard Lewis pick. He brings some versatility.

Rose is a good choice as a back up point guard. He'll come in, create some offense and that's all you need your bench guys to do really, especially with Chandler providing the defense.

Are there two more rounds to go?

Nope this is the last round. Most teams are complete, only 6 picks to go.

The big issue with Bernard King was that his monstrous '85 season didn't even count in this project. That was just a surreal season and one of the best scoring seasons from the perimeter since '80. But he only played 55 games that year (61 is the minimum in an 82 game season for this project).

His '84 season was still great, but his '82 and '83 seasons were just pretty good. The difference between '82-'84 Bernard King and '83-'85 Bernard King is pretty big. Not that different from the importance of Tracy McGrady's '03 season.

King was selected 91st in this project. If that '85 season had counted, he'd definitely be selected in the Top 70 and possibly the Top 50. The fact that he didn't have 3pt range would've hurt him a little even if '85 counted.

Losing 85 isn't a big deal at all IMO. He was always the same player(unstoppable scorer) thats just the year got the green light. I also wouldn't worry about 3 point range, no one was taking 3s in 80s but that doesn't mean they couldn't make them. Bernard King is one of the greatest shooters of all time.
