Det-Bos-Brk

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Tue Jan 21, 2014 4:34 pm

I should be working, but wtf, the Pistons need to be fixed, so here is my latest attempt:

Detroit out (30.2m): Smith (14.0m), Jennings (7.7m), Villaneauva (8.5m expiring)
Detroit in (30.8m): Rondo (12.0m), Green (8.7m), Wallace (10.1m)
Why: Detroit dismantles the big 3, gets a star PG, and a legit SF. Got to absorb Wallace to get the goods.

Nets out: Pierce (15.3m expiring)
Nets in: Smith (14.0m)
Why: Get more talent and they are not worried about contracts.

Boston out: Rondo (12.0m), Green (8.7m), Wallace (10.1m)
Boston in: Pierce (15.3m expiring), Jennings (7.7m), Villaneauva (8.5m expiring)
Why: Pierce will get to retire in Boston, Boston gets Wallace off the books and get huge cap space next year. They can do a popular move on Pierce yet improve their tanking.

Joe wouldn't do this so he needs to be fired first.

Probably true. It would show that his offseason was a disaster.

Any trade that keeps Monroe I have to say no. I just can't see us ever winning with him at PF with that defense. If we make a move he has to be the one traded first in my opinion.

I like getting Rondo/Green/Wallace though.

I'm curious as to why tyreke Evans isn't used as a pg anymore?

Someone on the trade board said that Pierce can't be traded back to Boston within a year. Is that true?

Yes, in the CBA a player can't be traded back to a team for a year.

is more realistic trade that we give to boston jennings monroe and a expiring and we could get rondo with the horrible contract of wallace, then we can try to move smith and stuckey to the pacers for west and granger (i know they say no for west, but we need to try)

i see wallace next to drummond playing PF more than playing SF

I'd forgive his off season if he pulls this off.

Boston is not going to give away their two best players to get rid of one contract. They just made Rondo their captain and have a buttload of pics, they don't need to trade him.

Because he's simply not a point guard.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Beyond horrible for Boston. They give up their two most valuable players for virtually nothing.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
