Maybe is McD is trying to re-visit the Kevin Love boat... By using 76ers as the leverage ... This rumour pops up as soon as Len has a good game... So maybe there was some interest at the start then it died down because Len hasn't shown anything then now he shows some potential and interest is back up.
It's not a rumor, just Simmons playing with trade machine.
I don't even think Simmons tweeted it, I don't see any mentions of him tweeting or deleting anything about the Suns on twitter. In fact, if you search on twitter "Trade: Sixers rec: E. Okafor, A. Len & 2014 1st rd pick. Suns rec: T. Young, E. Turner & J. Anderson." what Simmons supposedly tweeted, you'll find that one random Sixers fan tweeted that to him today and tweeted the same thing to another basketball guy a week ago. It's just some random Sixer fan's trade idea, I don't know how it caught steam. Nothing to see here.
Some Suns fan mentioned it a few pages back in this thread. I don't think he was lying, but I don't know what Simmons' tweet said exactly. Usually he throws out random trade ideas using the trade machine and specifies it as that.
I'm pretty sure it is BS because he is not really a source for this kind of info. It's just odd that he deleted it (after he tweeted it).
As I mentioned before, I think the only way we would even THINK about trading Len in a deal like this is if we really wanted to try and compete now and had a second deal already in place to trade Frye for Asik.
So basically, I wouldn't put any credence in Bill Simmons, but we've heard from several different sources (valid or not) that the Suns like Young.
If we could trade a pick and Okafor for Young and then Frye for Asik, while keeping Len, I could go for that. We would suddenly have an elite defense and some more athleticism.
