IMO, best case scenario is to maximize the position of our pick this year (top 5 hopefully) and combine the Por. and Det. picks to move up into the top 10 to get a Lavine so we can get a starting worthy SG and PF. Maybe make a big FA splash and just plan on making the playoffs in the Hornets first year and screw Chicago on that pick. 2015 will be full of bigs but we won't need any anyway if we keep Jefferson, Biz, Zeller, and hopefully Julius Randle (plus future FA (Mcbob, Adrien, Tolliver, etc)).

we owe a 2nd round pick to San Antonio in 2016, but that is 2 years away so it doesn't really matter right now or next year

It's also top 55 protected.

Thank for the assist, JDR and B.O.B.

JDR720 wrote:It seems that Brooklyn has turned their season around, that is good it will keep us at the 8 seed for a while if we keep winning, we just need some of the other East teams (NYK,BOS,CLE,DET) to start winning now or we go on a massive losing streak preferably both lol and also a Western team to win some more (NO,SAC,LAL)

A lot of season left, it will be interesting.

Cleveland, Detroit and New York will probably overtake us imo.

It's going to be tough without Kemba despite how good we looked against Toronto.

New Orleans, Sacto and Los Angeles all have the potential to end with a better record than us also.

I don't want Detroit to pass us until it's clear Cavs or Knicks lock down the 8th seed ahead of them. I don't like seeing DET in the 8th spot with us in the 11th spot where we lose our pick to Chicago and get a crappy pick from both DET and POR. I want DET to tank hard and I wouldn't mind if they keep their pick this year and it becomes top-1 protected next year. Maybe they crack the top 5 on a lotto draw and it becomes ours.

I can see SAC and NO pass us but I don't trust the Knicks or Celtics, maybe the Cavs.

Knicks and Cavs really truly suck. DET loses to the Bucks.

Hey guys, nice to see a lotta charlotte fans around here. Look forward to discussing bobcats with u all. Btw if ur interested in joining any more basketball forums here's one I'm active on and would love to see some of u join http://hoops-nation.com/community/ . Anyways, I'm really hoping Detroit gets the 9th seed and we get the 10th seed. That would probably leave us with something like the 9th and 10th pick. I like Zach Lavine, Gary Harris, and Noah Vonleh. I wouldn't mind getting one of those two guards i mentioned as well as vonleh

The Pelicans just passed the Pistons. I think the Knicks or Cavs can do the same and the pick goes to 9 if one of them succeeds.

We may not even get their pick this year. They have been dreadful.

Yeah I just saw the Knicks and Cavs are both 1 game back. I think they fall to 8. The only way to push them to 9 is to be worse. Without Kemba, it's possible. I wonder if they will trade Monroe and tank.

It's top 1 protected next year, so whatever. Detroit has a lot of holes that aren't going to be fixed in one year.

No, they really don't. All they need is a better coach, a better point guard, and any small forward that isn't Josh Smith and they're a top 5 team in the conference.

Say they trade Smith for some wing in the offseason and draft another with a top 8 pick, a starting five of Drummond/Monroe/[top5pick]/[wing that isn't Smith]/Jennings is a really good team.

Detroit should start another PG and let Jennings be the 6th man, he and Smith can coexist on the floor at the same time they are to inefficient

They had a PG that has actually been playing very well lately that could have co existed with Smith.

His name was Brandon Knight, and they should have never let him go.

And which team is going to help Detroit turn water into wine?

If the Bobcats find a couple of upgrades, they'd be a really good team.

If they somehow keep their pick this year then that right there can fill a hole. Add in trading Monroe for some nice pieces and replacing Cheeks and you have a nice team. We need to get the pick this year.
