Re: The Duke Mamba (Ryan Kelly) Thread
Watching the Lakers network the strength and conditioning coach said he always has to tell Ryan Kelly to stop working out and that resting will help his body more because he's always pushing himself too hard. I'm excited to see what he looks like after this summer.
With our record it looks like we'll get Nick Young, Farmar, Wesley Johnson, and Jordan Hill on good deals (edit- forgot Xavier too). Throw in that we got Marshall locked up for cheap and Kelly will probably come cheap as well. The future looks good despite the sh** season. Just lock up a couple super stars and we're ready to go to war. Draft Embiid and sign Pau to a 1 year huge deal and then let Pau go year's end or even trade him midseason for Love.

And those comparisons would be awful, because Jared Dudley is not a big, and Juwan Howard has maybe taken one three pointer his entire career, probably accidentally.
But since you're fixated on the race thing, power forwards or centers who shoot that three (make at least one a game):
White:
Ryan Anderson, Kevin Love, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Novak, Matt Bonner, Mirza Teletovic, Spencer Hawes, Josh McRoberts, Pero Antic.
Black:
Channing Frye, Marvin Williams, Marcus Morris, Earl Clark
Not that this means anything to me, but it does show that your hyper political correctness is actually just inaccuracy.

um, if you're stretching with somebody like Pero Antic being a 'white' shooter then here i go...
Kevin Garnett, Charlie Villanueva, Chris Webber, Al Harrington, Rasheed Wallace, Zach Randolph, Antawn Jamison, Lamar Odom, Antoine Walker, Shawn Marion, Tim Thomas, Donyell Marshall, Rudy Gay, Amare Stoudemire, Marcus Camby, Robert Horry, Chris Bosh...for god sake, Yao Ming.

Re: The Duke Mamba (Ryan Kelly) Thread
I like this guy.
When I was watching the draft in July I saw athletic after athletic player being chosen before (and after) us and was dumbfounded when we picked up this lanky, unathletic- looking, soft white guy.
I've been more than pleased watching him play. He has a lot of intelligence and does not ever look lost out on the court like other rookies we have played in the past.
I've been more than pleased with him and with Sacre as well.
Hope they keep developing and become solid role players. I do see Kelly becoming perhaps an All-Star one year in his career. It may be a stretch for some to see that , but I certainly see it.

you're way to opptomistic with this perspective....best case scenario is a Frye/Anderson type player and neither of those 2 will ever sniff an all-star team.

And even that is a reach.

R Kelly is upto #9 on NBA.com rookie ladder, it might not be a stretch to see both him and KButters in the rising stars challenge.

And yet Embiid is the next Hakeem.
It's funny when we have a new guy who shows he can actually play in the NBA, guys jump all over people who want to be optimistic about them.
But high draft picks are all future superstars.
